1800 B.C. A cairn of earth and stone. Excavation Ancient Monument has revealed a mound consisting of an earth layer, ST 037755 covered by a stone layer and humus. A fragmentary kerb of large stone surrounds the cairn. A food vessel, a pigmy food vessel and two fine flints knives have been unearthed, and it is possible there was a Bronze Age settlement nearby.

According to tablet in parish church pre l6ii7• "See Caercady and Die" was reputed to have been the last words uttered by those hung on ______Stalling Down.
