1. A Yaaga is a vedic ritual which usually includes meditation, devotion, and sacrifice, while reciting mantras or sacred verses in front of a sacred fire.

2. As a part of the yaaga janaka decided to plough a chosen piece of land.

3. The beauty of the goddess earth mortal eyes cannot see in its fullness, but we get glimpes of it as we gaze with grateful hearts on the emerald green or golden ripeness of spring tide or autumn fields, or with awe and adoration on the glories of mountain and valley, rivers and ocean.

4. Long ago, pleased with a yaaga performed by janaka, Varuna - the god of oceans presented to him Rudra's bow and two quivers. That was an ancient heavenly bow, which no ordinary man could even move and king janaka could find the person who could lift it.

5. King janaka performed yaaga and got where he received Rudra's bow from God varuna. Varuna said this is an ancient heavenly bow, which no ordinary man could lift it so this was kept by him as an hounoured heirloom.

9. It was brought on an eight-wheeled carriage and dragged like a temple chariot during a festival.

Raama stepped out to the iron bow-case, while all eyes were fixed on him in wishful expectation. opening the box, he lifted the bow effortlessly, as if it were a garland of flowers, and resting one end of it against his toe, he bent and strung it and drew the string back with such irresistible force that the might bow snapped with a crash like a clap of thunder.
