Day 1 Sun 22 March. Richmond - Sydney - - Ballarat - Ararat - Stawell Lunch & Dinner Coach Transfers from Panthers Nth Richmond to Sydney Airport departing at 5.30am and returning after the tour. Flight VA0816 Sydney 0800 - Melbourne 0935 After our Sydney Airport coach transfer and morning flight into Melbourne, we meet our coach captain and begin our 6 day tour that will take in the Mallee and The Greater Shepparton Silo Art Trails. Our amazing journey will also have us taking in the brilliant colours of the salt-pans and sunset of Lake Tyrrell and other unique and interesting features along the way. Our day today take us up through Ballarat, Ararat and into Stawell. En-route we stop at The Boatshed Restaurant in Ballarat for lunch and also tour J Ward in Ararat which explains the early history of the goldfield times and later, the incarceration of the criminally insane. After we have relived the past and heritage of J Ward we visit the Seppelt Great Western Winery where we take a tour of the famous Underground Champagne Cellars followed by a taste at the Cellar Door. This afternoon we check-in to our accommodation in Stawell before dinner in the motel restaurant. Overnight: Stawell Day 2 Mon 23 March. Silo Art Trail - Sea Lake Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Today we travel along the 200km Silo Art Trail, our first stop will be the Rupanyup Silo, created by Russian street artist Julia Volchkova and dedicated to local netball and football players. Murtoa is our next stop visiting the Murtoa Stick Shed for a talk and tour of one of the most unusual and interesting buildings in Australia. The Stick Shed was built in 1941 and contains 560 poles within, it can hold around 100,000 tons of wheat. Next we visit Sheep Hills where artist Matt Adnate has created a monster 30m high x 40m wide piece of art dedicated to an Aboriginal Wergaia Elder and a Wotjobaluk Elder, alongside two young children, which celebrates the richness of the area’s Indigenous culture. We stop for lunch at the Creekside Hotel in before continuing into Brim, home to the first silo completed. The small farming town captured the world’s attention in January 2016 after Brisbane street artist Guido van Helten painted a giant mural on the town’s unused grain silos depicting an anonymous, multi-generational quartet of female and male farmers. We continue up to Rosebery where we view the most recently finished artwork by Kaff-eine. Completed in late 2017, Kaff-eine’s artwork depicts themes that she says embody the region’s past, present and future. Later this afternoon we arrive in Sea Lake where we check-in to the new unique Lake Tyrrell Accommodation. We are then joined by our Lake Tyrrell guide Julie, before travelling out to the lake platform to view the spectacular colours of a Lake Tyrrell sunset. Those wishing are able to hop into a pair of “Gum Boots”, which are supplied allowing us to take a walk on the lake. Following we travel back to our accommodation for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles, followed by dinner at the A79. Overnight: Sea Lake Day 3 Tues 24 March. Silo Art - Spannerman - Shepparton Breakfast & Dinner After check out we travel across to and view the last silo of the trail. Brisbane artist, Fintan Magee booked a room at the local pub to immerse himself in the community and get to know its people. When he met local sheep and grain farmer, Nick “Noodle” Hulland, Magee knew he had found his muse.

In order to capture the true essence of Lascelles, Melbourne-based artist, Rone knew that he had to learn about the town from those who were deeply connected to it. While still in Lascelles we check out some quirky corrugated iron artwork and sculptures at the Drover’s Hut Gallery. After a cuppa and bicky at the gallery we head off to Boort, stopping via Wycheproof Bakery to purchase lunch, and later arriving at Piccoli’s Spanner Sculptures. This country garden is filled with larger than life sculptures, including an iconic shearer, a family of deer, a pair of fighting stallions, a Mallee bull, intricate garden seats and many more. These wonderful works of art are made entirely of antique and modern day spanners welded together. This afternoon we head east to Shepparton via the township of Rochester to view the silo mural that was completed during July 2018. The colourful detail by artist Jimmy Dvate of a Squirrel Glider and Azure Kingfisher on the Campaspe River is quite brilliant! Leaving Rochester we continue across to Shepparton for check in and dinner. Overnight: Shepparton Day 4 Wed 25 March. Shepparton - Dookie - Silo Art Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner After breakfast we make our way to the Chocolate Apple Factory, home of the famous chocolate and caramel coated apples, producers of fresh cherries, apples and pears and manufacturers of fruit liqueur, fruit wine, natural fruit juices, jams and pastes. Our visit will include a short talk on the business together with tastings. We then travel up to Dookie village, home to the Dookie Emporium, with antiques to vintage, funky sixties to seventies, clothing, furniture, militaria, art and more. They also stock fresh regional produce including cheese, preserves, nuts, eggs, fruit and vegetables, local wines and boutique beers. Leaving Dookie we enjoy a light regional platter lunch and tastings at Tallis Wines. Tucked away in the scenic Dookie Hills, the Cellar Door offers panoramic views from every aspect of the relaxed and airy space. This afternoon we begin our drive up along the Silo Art Trail with out first stop in Goorambat. As part of the 2018 Wall to Wall festival, Goorambat silos were painted by famed iconic Melbourne street artist Jimmy Dvate, and depicts an endangered bird of prey from the area, 'Millibai' the Barking Owl. We step inside the Uniting Church to view the beautiful mural of "Sophia" the female aspect of the Holy Spirit. Move onto Devenish where the war-themed Silo Art depicts a World War I nurse and a modern-day army medic - the latest work of art on the third silo is that of a Lighthorse soldier and his horse, which was just unveiled on ANZAC weekend 2019 before a packed Anzac Day commemorative service. Our next township is St James where artist Timothy Bowtell has decorated the GrainCorp silos with a mural of Sir George Coles, the founder of Coles supermarkets who was a local to the St James township. The last stop for our central Victorian Silo Art Trail is in the small township of Tungamah where Broome based artist Sabrane has created a celebration of Australian native birds on the three silos. The last leg of our journey returns us to Shepparton. Dinner tonight is in the motel restaurant. Overnight: Shepparton Day 5 Thurs 26 March. Shepparton - Tatura Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Today is spent discovering the great Shepparton area and what better place to start than the Greater Shepparton Tourist Centre where our local guide is waiting for us. We begin our discovery tour of Shepparton which includes some of the 100+ Moooving Art Cows. Moooving Art is an ever changing public art exhibition of life-sized 3D cows that pays homage to the strength of the dairy industry in Greater Shepparton. The fibreglass bovines are scattered throughout Shepparton and surrounding towns in public gardens, playgrounds and businesses and are full of colour, spunk and personality. Our next stop, the Shepparton Motor Museum, houses an ever changing collection that includes anywhere up to 100 classic, heritage and muscle cars generously loaned or donated as well as motorcycles, vintage bicycles and car collectables. A very unique part of the museum is The Furphy Museum which is the only one of its kind. It is an authentic exhibition tracing the 150 year journey of Furphy engineering, the five generations of the Furphy family and the significance of the Furphy legend in our history. Leaving Shepparton we travel out to Tatura for a light lunch at Tatura Hot Bread, famous for their renowned vanilla slices. Following lunch we take a short stroll to Stuart Mock Place and view the impressive mosaic Tatura Murals, depicting the history and achievements of the local people from the time when Aborigines inhabited the area through to the modern town. No visit to Tatura would be complete without a tour of the Tatura Irrigation and Wartime Camps Museum, a three part exhibition covering the History of Irrigation in Victoria's Goulburn Valley, the Local and Family History of Tatura and District since white settlement and the history of the seven World War II Prisoner of War and Internment Camps which were established in the area. The German War Cemetery, Tatura, is historically significant as the first foreign war cemetery tobe established in Australia and as one of five war cemeteries established by the Australian War Graves Commission in Victoria after the end of World War II. On our way back through Tatura we stop at the Victoria Cross Memorial Garden, home to the Robert Mactier statue. It acknowledges the bravery for which Tatura born and raised, Private Mactier made the ultimate sacrifice and was thus posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross in 1918. While travelling back to Shepparton be sure to keep a look out for more of those Cows on the Mooove. We arrive back at our accommodation for a rest before dinner in the motel restaurant. Shepparton - Melbourne Airport - Sydney - Richmond Breakfast & Lunch After breakfast this morning we farewell our hosts as we check out and make our way across to Benalla. Home to regional Victoria's stunning street art by various artists including Guido van Helten, Adnate, Rone, DVATE, Sirum, Kaff- eine and many more. We are met by a local guide who gives us an insight into the world of international street art and the artists who created the artworks. Next we visit the Noorilim Estate, built in 1879 and surrounded by 22 acres of picturesque botanical gardens, an ornamental lake and 75 acres of vineyards that are home to over 150 species of native birds and mammals. Here we enjoy a guided tour of the Homestead followed by a light lunch. Continuing back down the highway we stop in Seymour to view the Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Walk. Opened in 2013, the wall includes both the names of all Australian veterans who served in the Vietnam War and a photographic time line. This afternoon we arrive at Melbourne Airport for our flight back to Sydney and coach transfer back up to Richmond after a wonderful break away with Trade Travel and our probus friends from the Hawkesbury region.
