BLEACH* FESTIVAL, GOLD COAST, 12 - 22 AUGUST 2021

QUEENSLAND EVENTS ARE GOOD TO GO

QUEENSLAND.COM/EVENTS The Mackay Festival of Arts is the celebration of local talent, culture, colour, music and food we all need in 2021. It’s the party we have been looking for.

Our team pulled off something special last year with the amazing live-streamed Mackay Festival Sessions, but it’s not the same as being in Queens Park with outstanding food and wine listening to great music. So, this year, let’s do it! And what a program we have! Can you believe G&S Engineering have been the major sponsor of the G&S Engineering Wine and Food Day for 20 years? That’s an incredible achievement and a testament to their unwavering support for the local community. With headlining a line-up of 13 tremendous musical acts, this year’s event will undoubtably be a standout and a great 20-year milestone. Then, for the after-party, the Festival Club is transforming the MECC Halls into an authentic Aussie beer garden offering fans another chance to catch “Nollsy”, as well as three other top shelf bands. DBCT Illuminate is back! Installation 4.0 will be spellbinding in its new venue along the Bluewater Trail. It will be our most interactive Illuminate yet and you will be able to traverse the course via tuk-tuk. ƧȌǶȌɐȲǏɐǶɐȺɈȲƊǶǞƊȁȁƊɈǞɨƵJȌɐǶƮǞƊȁ˛ȁƧǘƵȺةɩƵǘƊɨƵȺǞɮǐǞƊȁɈةƮƮǞȁǐɈȌɈǘǞȺȺȯƵƧɈƊƧǶƵ complete with party hats, which will act as “Messengers for Mackay” and will adorn prominent buildings in six locations. There are plenty of other exciting new events this year as well. Savour Seaforth will be the ultimate regional escape for spice-loving foodies and lovers of soulful and chilled music. Heading North, a Joel Bow production featuring the writing of S.K. Munt and music of Graeme Connors, will be an all-local creation celebrating life in North Queensland. Perennial favourite the Friends of the MECC Jazz Brunch is back, along with a stack of fringe events, markets, children’s attractions, a silent disco and local talent showcased on the Jack Sturgeon Stage. Mackay in July! This will be a festival you won’t want to miss. Mayor Greg Williamson Joel Bow Productions presents Heading North in association with the Mackay Festival of Arts and Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre – a new musical for North Queensland.

Heading North is the story of two families that share a passion for life, love and the sea. Set amongst the palm trees, Graeme Connors’ most iconic hits transform you to the tropical north where friendships are formed, and memories are created.
