LYNNWOOD RETAIL INVESTMENT KIDDER MATHEWS | OFFERING MEMORANDUM 20 LYNNWOOD LINK EXTENSION PROJECT MILESTONES

Overall Purpose Alternatives The Lynnwood Link Extension is a key part of Sound Transit’s mass transit system expansion approved by 2010-2012 Analysis & Scoping voters in 2008. Targeted for completion in late 2023, 8.5 miles of light rail will extend from the Northgate Station to the Lynnwood Transit Center. Lynnwood Link will carry riders each weekday through some of Environmental the worst traffic congestion in Washington state. This extension builds on north-end segments to the 2013-2015 Review University of Washington and Northgate, currently in construction and targeted for service in 2016 and 2021, respectively. Riders will also be able to connect with the East Link extension, targeted for service in Final Design 2023. Voter-approved extensions will bring 36 new miles of service to the north, south and east, creating 2016-2018 & Permitting more than 50 miles of regional light rail in 2023.

Sound Transit began the Lynnwood Link Extension in 2010, evaluating a variety of routes to extend the 2018-2023 Construction mass transit system from Northgate to Lynnwood. The publication of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in July 2013 kicked off a comprehensive environmental review with extensive public engagement and coordination with partner agencies. After the Final EIS was published in April 2015, the Open For Service Sound Transit Board of Directors selected with an alignment along Interstate 5. In July 2015, Late 2023 Sound Transit received a Record of Decision from the Federal Transit Administration, completing the environmental review of the project.
