Highlights from Manufacturing Day Across California

Here are highlights from the organizations that participated in Manufacturing Day 2017. These are just a few of the events that CMTC actively participated in by sponsoring, organizing, matching up 10-6-2017 manufacturers with schools wishing to participate, or by lending our support by exhibiting or attending. We are proud that so many of the manufacturers featured here are CMTC clients and/or participants in our Made in CA program.

CMTC has supported Manufacturing Day events and activities since 2012

“Manufacturing Day is a special day where the small and medium-sized manufacturers, that fuel the economic engine of California, have an opportunity to showcase their products and capabilities. This opportunity to visit a manufacturer is particularly important for local area high school students who will be the next generation of manufacturers and workers”

James Watson, President & CEO of CMTC

Manufacturing Day has always been an important way to spread the word about the benefits that manufacturing provides our wonderful State of California. This year, Manufacturing Day was actively promoted throughout the state via a variety of methods. Some of the various outreach programs focused on: ■■ Manufacturers ■■ Our partners and other stakeholders ■■ Middle schools, high schools, vocational schools and home school organizations ■■ City, county and state officials ■■ Current and prospective CMTC clients ■■ Members of the media

Outreach efforts included; phone calls, e-mails, social media and in-person meetings. We also featured upcoming events in our monthly newsletter “News for Manufacturers” and in our CMTC blog. In addition, we created a “Manufacturing Day - See Who’s Participating” webpage to keep everyone informed about Manufacturing Day and provide the most up-to-date listing of California companies hosting events.

CMTC has actively participated in, and promoted, Manufacturing Day since its inception in 2012. This year, we were much more active in sponsoring, organizing and coordinating events statewide. We were also very committed to pairing up schools wishing to attend Manufacturing Day events with manufacturers and other organizations hosting open houses, career fairs, and expos. CMTC’s efforts directly resulted in over 50 schools attending events, giving more than 1,000 students first-hand exposure to learn about today’s manufacturing technologies.

We would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all of the manufacturers, schools, stakeholders and other organizations and individuals who helped make Manufacturing Day 2017 such a huge success.
