Report card

Offense: C

The Hawks shot 41 percent from the floor. However, there were issues. They went ice cold in the Kings’ 18-0 third-quarter run. They were woeful from 3-point range, although Dennis Schroder, Al Horford and Kyle Korver hit fourth-quarter 3-pointers in the comeback. There were execution issues in the final seconds. Paul Millsap had a turnover and they failed to get a shot off at the buzzer.

Defense: B

The Kings shot 36 percent from the floor. The Hawks overcame a 17-point deficit by getting several key stops. The Hawks were in the game until the end despite being at such a large rebounding disadvantage.

That speaks to the defense. Despite Cousin’s double-double, the Hawks did a much better defensive job on the forward over the final three quarters.
