GRACE KELLY 1 THE STANDARD Two out of three judges put this unforgettable gown at the top of the list. “Sixty-two years after it was worn, this dress still looks chic and elegant and continues to inspire brides globally,” says stylist Donny Galella. “I love everything about it, from the cummerbund detail, to her choice of floral Juliet cap over an elaborate tiara and lace neckline.” Pallas Couture designer Joy Morris is similarly enchanted. The “shaped bust cup and cinched-waist effect is feminine and so befitting for any princess,” she says.

I most adore the delicate collar, the V-neckline and the long lace sleeves.” Morris, too, points out how “this gown’s amazing silhouette is a classic design still favoured today.”

3 PRINCESS MARGARET SIMPLY ELEGANT

PRINCESS CAROLINE DELICATE DETAILS

“A feminine design, this stunning lace gown with slight bell sleeves is so innocent and refreshing, which I love,” says Morris, while Nolan notes how the celebrated beauty chose a gown for the times. “This Marc Bohan for Christian Dior is a true reflection of the late 1970s,” she says. “Princess Caroline shows her impeccable sense of style by bucking the royal trend of an opulent tiara, instead choosing dainty floral crowns over her Princess Leia–style buns.”

Ritchie is as being a mum changed your the current fashion style? ambassador for Not particularly. I might iron less than I Jockey Australia. H used to, but generally, I have always been a quite casual dresser. I do believe [though, that] you subconsciously start opting for darker colours to combat grubby hands and items of clothing with plenty of pockets for snacks, wipes, miniature dolls and dummies. Does your daughter Mae, 3, ever comment on your outfits? She often asks me to put on a dress so that I can be Anna … and she can be Elsa. When lounging around the house, what’s your favourite pieces to relax in? Heading into the cooler months I would have to say a knit cardi thrown over the top of super-cute Parisienne pants. You can’t beat the feeling of cashmere. Speaking of the cooler months, what’s your top three must-buys for this season? A great pair of RM Williams in black (an item that has been on my list for the past three winters), a Sancia the Babylon Bar Bag Eternity in the most delicious Cognac pebble leather and a pair of Bally trainers. As a mum, what is your ideal date-night outfit? A great pair of pants and a sexy, well-cut shirt. Fun jewels, bag and boots if you can get away with it. Off-duty dressing? What is your go-to style? I have never had to dress for [a] high-flying corpo- rate job and spent most of my formative career rocking up to work in a tracksuit and wet hair, so off-duty dressing is much like my on-duty dressing! Thank goodness for good denim jeans and a great pair of trainers, and if I have to turn it up a notch, a silk shirt always wins.

TV STARRING: Milo Ventimiglia

So other than the big surprise that was the series’ clever twist at the end of the very first episode of This Is Us, the intrigue of the show in the following season-and-a-half has centred on the great question of “How did Jack [Ventimiglia] die?” In the course of those episodes, the viewer has been taken on a drama-laden journey through past and present, recounting the lives of the Pearson clan with blatant emotional manipulation at every single turn. For fans who are down with that, it’s what makes This Is Us so fabulous. For everyone else, tonight’s episode is the big reveal of the how and why of Jack’s demise. (Airs Wed., May 9, 9.30 PM; Ten)

Those burning questions will be answered: Ventimiglia as Jack.

BREATH MOVIE STARRING: Simon Baker, Samson Coulter

For his feature-film directorial debut, actor Baker, best known as the hunky lead of The Mentalist, didn’t pick any old easy movie to make. Instead he aimed high, taking on the adaptation of Tim Winton’s poetic 2008 novel and its coming-of-age tale of a young teen (Coulter as Pikelet) falling in love with surfing—and the opposite sex—in 1970s small-town Australia. Baker also stars as Sando, Pikelet’s surfing mentor and the husband of prickly Eva (Elizabeth Debicki). It’s a tricky role and although one never negates Baker’s inherent handsomeness, it is possible to look past the superficial to appreciate his acting. And so it is with the film—beautiful to watch, hard to tear your eyes away from, with both the magnificent wave-catching scenes, which thrill, and the less appealing indoor ones which disquiet. A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR A testimony to the film’s credentials is the involvement of Winton, DVD both with the screenplay and narrating, as the voice of grown-up YOUR BIRTHDAY Pikelet. (Out now) STARRING: Sharon Stone, Tony Goldwyn

Starting with her 46th birthday, Senna (Stone), still beautiful but directionless, wakes up in bed with a non-long-term prospect, heads to BOOK work at a dead-end sales job, and confirms that her one-time ambition of being a fashion designer is still dead and buried. But the day turns a AHIGHERLOYALTY little less dire when she meets lawyer Adam (Goldwyn), who intrigues APR 7, 2018 James Comey despite making a bad first impression. Then the film recounts that day Confirms her on each successive year, checking in on Senna, her career, her lifestyle rumoured and her friends, as well as where she stands with Adam. In this new version, she is a mixed-race schoolgirl, the illegitimate daughter of a wealthy local landowner, who sends her to Appleyard College, run by the ferocious headmistress, Mrs Hester Appleyard (Natalie Dormer).
