Founded in the heart of the City of Joy, by none other than Rastraguru , in 1882, now stands as one of British India's oldest law college, Surendranath Law College. Adding to its hundreds of years of glorious history, this college has presented India with some of her finest gems as the name connotes Dr. (The first President of India), Shri Harendra Kumar Mukherjee (The first Governor of ), Justice Bijan Kumar Mukherjee (The first Bengali Chief Justice of India) and many other luminaries and eminent persons. Since inception this college has produced and continues producing many legal luminaries, academicians as well as corporate personalities.

The college today aspires to provide quality education to students of all sections of the society without any kind of discrimination and to enable them to stand up to the challenges of the new millennium with courage and conviction. The college has claimed its place among various universities of India by bagging many Gold Medals in academics. The COVID-19 Pandemic has swept the globe like a storm. The entire dynamics of the world are on the brink of a seismic shift as a result of such an unprecedented occurrence, and are changing at a very fast pace. The COVID-19 Pandemic is one of the worst crises the world is facing. The ramifications of the Pandemic are enormous, and academia is responding to the situation in its own capacity. Criminal justice is the process of bringing people who have committed crimes to justice. Criminal Justice applies to the agencies of government charged with enforcing law, adjudicating crime, and correcting criminal conduct. Criminal Justice System is established to maintain law and order and control crime. But the virus outbreak has affected the criminal justice system in India and facing various challenges in this regard. The object of this webinar is to discuss the various issues relating to the challenges before the Criminal Justice System in India during COVID-19 Pandemic. The themes of the webinar not only address issues gripping in India at the moment but also give a comprehensive understanding of the global issues surrounding the Pandemic. The themes are relevant to a broad spectrum of academic learning, giving enough intellectual space to share ideas from diverse fields. CALL FOR PAPERS

Academicians, Researchers, Students interested to participate in the Webinar are welcome to contribute their abstracts and full papers on the sub-themes or related topics for the webinar.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 The abstract must contain the highlights of the full paper and should not exceed 500 words.  Author(s) Name, Organisation, Paper Title, Email Id and Contact Number to be stated clearly in both abstract and full paper.  The author must opt for a topic from the sub-themes itself, or may bring any other topic of his choice, based on any related issue.  The abstract should be submitted through registration link only. All submissions should beuploaded in .doc/.docx format only. No PDF format shall be entertained.  Co-authorship is permitted, subject to a limit of maximum two authors per submission.  Intimation for acceptance will be provided within 2 working days from thelast date of the submission of abstract.  The Full Paper should be submitted upon selection of abstract and shall be submitted through e-mail to [email protected] within the time as prescribed. All submissions should be sent in .doc/.docx format only.

 The text should be in Times New Roman, Font size 12, spacing 1.5. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, Font size 10 with single spacing.  All references in the Article must conform to the Bluebook 21st Edition.  Authors submitting Article in co-authorship have to write names of both Authors and one email ID of either Author in the Form while submission.  The submission must be the original work of the author(s) i.e. shouldn’t be plagiarized and also should be free from grammatical, spelling and other errors. It must also not contain any defamatory words.  Plagiarism is permitted to the maximum extent of 20%. (Less plagiarism will be appreciated).  The paper should be within 3500 – 4000 words inclusive of footnotes and abstract.  The submission should be original and unpublished work of the author. The authors may be given an opportunity, at the discretion of the organising committee, to present the accepted papers during the webinar.  E-certificate will be given to those who participate / present the paper in the webinar.

 For participation, registration is mandatory. Only registered participants will be allowed to take part in the webinar.  Participants must make sure for their presence in the webinar through it's entirety. PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

 The presentation should be based on the accepted paper. Only the listed presenters may present their paper.  Presenters shall be allotted 8 minutes time to present their paper. Presenters need to be well prepared to present 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Any unnecessary delay on part of the participant might lead to disqualification.  All the Participants shall be required to present their papers on 30th May, 2021 through Zoom.  Presentation shall be done in English only.

CODE OF CONDUCT

 The direct link for the webinar shall be provided in WhatsApp group 2 hours before the event.  All the participants shall join the meeting 15 minutes prior to the inaugural session.  Participants shall mention their attendance only when provided with the Google Form link.  Participants shall attend the webinar through it's entirety.  No attendee, at any cost whatsoever, otherwise asked to, shall turn on their camera or microphone in the ongoing meeting.  Participants are requested not to cause any disturbance in the ongoing meeting.
