Towson junior defensive midfielder Zach Goodrich was selected to the Watch List and is one Towson in the NCAA Top 35 of four CAA members to be named. The two-time captain and Second Team All-American will (Feb. 27) look to make the cut later this season when the next round of watch listers is announced on TEAM March 22. Now in his seventh season as the head coach of the Towson University men’s lacrosse program, head coach Shawn Nadelen has the Tigers firmly listed among the sport’s top Division I programs. Last season, Nadelen guided the Tigers to their third-straight CAA Championship before leading the program to its first NCAA Semifinal berth since the 2001 campaign. In each of the last two seasons, the Tigers have ended the season of the Tournament’s second-seeded teams, knocking off host Denver 10-9 in the first round of the 2016 edition before bouncing No. 2 Syracuse 10-7 in the NCAA Quarterfinals last season at . Since Nadelen took over the program, Towson has amassed an overall record of 65-37 (.637). During the 2016 CAA Tournament, Nadelen collected the 50th win of his tenure, besting rival Drexel 10-6 in the semifinals. He became the fastest coach to win 50 Division I games at Towson and is the second-fastest to the mark, including the program’s Division II days. Last season, Nadelen’s sixth, six Tigers earned USILA All-America mentions: Second Teamers Zach Goodrich and Jack Adams, and Honorable Mentions Ryan Drenner, Mike Lynch, Tyler Mayes and Alex Woodall. He has coached two CAA Defensive Players of the Year: Tyler White (2016) and Tyler Mayes (2017). During the 2016 season, Nadelen and the Tigers set a program record for wins in a single season, racking up a 16-3 overall record en route to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals. That same season, Towson set a program benchmark for home wins, collecting an 11-1 overall record at Johnny Unitas Stadium. For his efforts in guiding the Tigers to the 2016 CAA Regular Season title and the right to host the CAA Tournament, Nadelen was voted by his league peers as the 2016 CAA Coach of the Year, becoming just the second coach in the program’s history to be named CAA Coach of the Year.
