. . . and MORE Hawaiian Ranked Most Responsive to Customer Calls

Hawaiian Airlines, the nation’s perennial #1 on-time carrier and consistently top rated carrier serving Hawaii, has now been ranked the most responsive to customer phone calls among the nation’s 13 largest carriers.

In an independent and anonymous evaluation of telephone customer support provided by airline call centers over the period of November 16-21 – the week before Thanksgiving and one of the year’s busiest times for air travel and customer support – STELLAService found that Hawaiian answered customer calls fastest. (See chart, Average Hold Time for Airlines, issued by STELLAService at http://stellaservice.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/airlines_study_thanksgiving_stellaservice1.png).

To rank the carriers’ responsiveness, representatives of STELLAService, an independent provider of customer service quality ratings and research for retailers, spoke with each of the airlines’ call centers at least five times daily at different times of the day during the evaluation period and engaged them with general customer service questions.

Peter Ingram, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said, “Providing our guests with efficient, hassle free and courteous service is central to Hawaiian’s brand. This commitment is reflected in our consistent on-time performance leadership, our innovation in time-saving airport check-in processes and most recently in this recognition of our responsiveness to customer calls.”

Hawai‘i Convention Center Meetings Enhance Communities through Educational Outreach, Support and Public Events

Three of the Hawai‘i Convention Center’s largest meetings of 2011 made significant contributions to Hawai‘i schools, hospitals, nonprofit organizations and communities, all while attracting more than 25,000 participants from around the world, resulting in more than $120 million in state revenue. The American College of Chest Physi- cians (ACCP); American Psychiatric Association (APA); and the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) worked to improve the mental and physical health of Hawai‘i communities through these efforts and the donation of more than $17,000.

The Chest Foundation’s OneBreath initiative also donated $10,000 to support ongoing health programs and activities at the school. In addition, renowned specialists delivered “grand rounds” lectures at select Hawai’i hospitals to provide their expertise on specific patient cases.

The American Psychiatric Foundation, the charitable arm of APA, also hosted the Hawai`i Aloha Classic 2011 golf tournament in partnership with the Waipahu Aloha Club at the Waikele Coun- try Club on May 13 to assist in raising funds.

“The positive impact of groups meeting in Hawai‘i often reaches much further than room nights and visitor spend- ing. The wealth of information, resources and generosity that these meetings have brought to Hawai‘i will enhance our islands for years to come,” said Joe Davis, SMG general manager of the Hawai‘i Convention Center. “We are proud to see our guests and partners carry on the spirit of Na Mea Ho`okipa – the unconditional aloha spirit that the Hawai‘i Convention Center holds at the center of its mission.”
