About the position

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Partnerships, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new business, managing new corporate partnerships, and achieving commercial budget targets.

This is a full-time role that demands a driven, energetic, dynamic and approachable individual who has a high level of business sales experience. The Business Development Manager will be critical in cultivating growth and delivering commercial outcomes for the Club.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage customer contacts at all levels – executives, decision makers, influencers, stakeholders – working across various industry segments and customer tiers • Develop strategic sales plans and foster professional relationships with the goal to create and close sales opportunities, with exceptional and consistent results including a high level of customer satisfaction • Build and manage a pipeline through cold-calling, face-to-face appointments, and networking; - with emphasis on generating leads and progressing opportunities from prospect to loyal customer • Utilize a consultative approach with clients to understand their objectives and be able to demonstrate how Parramatta Eels can support that with a clear ROI • Developing sales proposals and making presentations to prospects, including c-level audiences • Reporting back weekly on pipeline build, sales forecasting and partnership progress

About you

• A proven track record of growing portfolios through successful B2B acquisition • Possess strong commercial acumen, a consultative sales approach & advanced negotiating skills • Excellent communication skills that allow you to have structured and objective-led conversations with customers and stakeholders. • Demonstrated ability to present to and engage with senior stakeholders • A passion for new business acquisition and delivering sustainable results • Strong digital sales and marketing knowledge will be highly regarded • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or similar highly regarded • Availability to work outside of normal working hours at weekend games and Club events which are held outside of Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
