PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Employment History 1999 - Present International Free Lance Trumpet Artist • Performing: Jazz, R&B, Soul, Funk, Broadway, Indie Rock, Classical • Private trumpet instruction, improvisation and technique, with a focus on concepts of breathing. 2015 - Present Vice President, Riverview Jazz Festival Coordination of artistic programming/booking and artistic direction 2013 - Present Director Jazz House Summer Workshop • Create educational direction and tone for Jazz House Kids • Managing 18 Faculty, 25 TAs, 10 Staff Members, and 150 Students for a two-week immersion in jazz training, playing, and listening including major performances at Dizzy’s J@LC and the Montclair Jazz Festival • Class placements by skill level for 150 students, 18 small groups and 8 big bands • Organization of audition requirements and results • Stage management and run of show coordination at Montclair Jazz festival. • Students recruitment, and international program partnerships with London’s Tomorrow’s Warrior, U.S. Embassy in Peru and NJ/NY public schools • Produce, book, and host daily guest artist concerts in coordination with artistic director, Christian McBride. • Run faculty and staff meetings, and oversee all daily activities of the workshop. 2011 - Present Jazz House Kids Teaching Faculty Providing world-class instruction, support, and mentorship. Directing small ensembles, improvisation classes, big bands, adult ensembles, and in-school programs for middle school students in Newark NJ. 2012 - 2015 Director of Music Jazz House Kids • Directed 16 faculty members, 6 staff members, and 21 ensembles • Created educational and artistic direction, tone, coordinate curriculum and educational strategy for the program. Audition and place 150+ students. • Oversaw 80+ student performances per year. • Built and directed program from regional, to one of the premier jazz education programs in the world, winning multiple awards at J@LC’s Ted Chubb Trumpet Artist, Educator, Composer, Music Director, Arts Administrator Page 2 Essentially Ellington Competition, The Charles Mingus Competition, Next Generation Jazz Competition. • Produced the concert and educational event “Inside the Jazz Note” with Chrisitan McBride and the Jazz House Big Band that featured artists such as David Sanborn, Al Jarreau, Jimmy Heath, Jon Faddis, Louis Hayes, Paquito DiRivera and the NJ Ballet Company. • Produced and Directed the Jazz House Big Band’s “Swinging at the Jazz House” recording at MSR Studios NYC. • Organized the Jazz House Kids Cultural Exchange Program, Tour to Peru 2015 and 2016, with the United States Embassy of Peru.
