Flow Festival on the verge of international breakthrough

The results of Flow Festival’s consistent international commitment are starting to show. Quality press throughout Europe picked Flow Festival as one of the top 10 festivals in 2014, including UK-based The Guardian, Germany’s Der Spiegel and the British music magazine Clash. Additionally US-based The Huffington Post and Europe Festival Guide have named Flow as the No 1 boutique festival in the world.

Since the first time it was organized, the -based Flow Festival has focused on quality in its music offering as well as its services. It has been curated to become a top quality international festival. The content is tailored each time with high international standards in mind rather than a focus on the local standard. For years Flow has also promoted itself internationally with the assistance of PR agencies in different European countries.

In the next five years, Flow Festival aims to multiply the number of festival guests from outside of from the current less than 10 per cent. It is a big challenge to rise to since Helsinki does not have the same pull as a travel destination among Flow’s target audience as Europe’s biggest metropolises. To achieve this target, Flow needs support from the City of Helsinki as well as other instances, because the international marketing of a city festival often culminates in the marketing of the city where the event takes place. Flow has actively collaborated with travel organizations to develop services, and wants to further improve what hotels and other travel services have to offer in the Finnish capital. This year almost all the hotels of Helsinki are fully booked as the Flow Festival weekend approaches.
