Koos grew up on a farm in Ken Root Steve Bruere Koos DeKlerk Rhodesia, which later became Zimbabwe. He and his brothers spoke Afrikaans at home and also spoke the tribal language of the region. His father was a Rugby legend and a very determined farmer. Koos was sent to Brittain for formal education before coming back and graduating from college with a degree in agriculture. He farmed with his family in Zimbabwe until 2004 when political diffi culties with the Mugabe regime became so great that they left the country. At that point, he CAPE TOWN EXTENSION: moved to Zambia and developed the Kalonga farm near Livingstone. Koos is well versed in all aspects of farming in southern Africa. He can speak in agronomic MArch 4 - 7 and economic terms about a wide range of crops from bananas to ground nuts (peanuts) as well as maize (corn) and wheat. Day 12: Cape Town Cape Peninsular Tour: Cruise along the exquisite stretch of coastline known as Millionaire’s Paradise (from Camps Bay and Clifton to the exclusive beach hamlet of Llandudno) towards the charming working harbour of Hout Bay and the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.
