’s Degree Scholarship Guidelines What is the Principal’s Degree Scholarship? The Principal’s Degree Scholarship was set up by our current Principal, Hugh Hall, to give some much needed financial help, recognition and encouragement to those progressing on to degree level study. A total fund of £6,000 is available to be shared amongst those who are successful.

Who Can Apply? Scholarship 1: Principal’s Degree Scholarship (Fife College) If you are due to complete an HND (year 2) at Fife College this session (2020/21) and have applied and been accepted to study on a degree course delivered at Fife College in 2021/22, listed below, this scholarship is for you. BA / BA (Hons) Accounting with Finance BA Learning Difficulties/Disabilities BA / BA (Hons) Business Management BA (Hons) Childhood Studies (TBC) BA (Hons) Creative Enterprise BA (Hons) Social Sciences Students currently on one of the above degree courses and progressing on to honours level at Fife College can also apply.

Scholarship 2: Principal’s Degree Scholarship (University) If you are due to complete an HNC or HND course at Fife College this session (2020/21) and have firmly accepted an offer to study for a full-time (OU part-time) degree course (2021/22) to directly enter a degree in year 2 or year 3 at one of the universities that we have an articulation agreement with, listed below, this scholarship is for you. Those currently on a degree course at Fife College who are progressing on to an honours or post graduate course at one of these universities can also apply. University of the West of Edinburgh Napier University Glasgow Caledonian University Abertay University Heriot-Watt University Queen Margaret University University of Highlands and Islands The (part-time) For both scholarships, all applicants should also have shown commitment to their course at Fife College, have previous high levels of attendance and academic performance and be keen to use their qualifications to enhance their career prospects. How Much is the Scholarship For? The £6,000 fund will be shared, at the discretion of the Principal, amongst award winners. A maximum award of £2,000 will be made per student after confirmation of enrolment on their degree course.

What Can You Spend the Scholarship On? The scholarship should be used to help support you during your degree studies to buy books, resources, software, or help with travel, accommodation and other expenses. Please advise on your application how this scholarship will support you in your future studies and enable you to achieve your goals.

What Happens Next? Applications - These will be reviewed and shortlisted after the closing date Monday, 12 July 2021. Reference - We would normally hold interviews for shortlisted students, however due to the current situation with COVID-19 we will ask a staff member who knows you for a reference. We’ll get in touch - All successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified of the outcome by email by early August 2021. Successful applicants will be sent a commemorative certificate along with online forms to complete so that their payment can be made following proof of enrolment on their degree course.
