TECHNICAL SKILLS

Animal Experience  Successfully completed the ‘‘Course on Laboratory Animal Sciences” held by the TMES Lab at the Faculty of Sciences of Sfax department of Life Science

Neurobiology of Cognitive Decline  Design Neurobehavioral tests for Learning, memory and anxiety for Rats and mice (Open field test- Morris water Maze test-Forced swimming test- Beam walking test- Elevate plus Maze Test).  To Identify and to analyze Neuronal Alteration in regard to the degree of cognitive decline and cholinergic lesions in rats and mice (in different brain regions as Cortex, Striatum and Hippocampus).  To develop the specificity of early, original biomarkers of cognitive decline using Genomic and proteomic approaches.

Molecular, Biochemical and Histological Approaches  Extraction and purification of RNA and DNA  RT-PCR (qualitative and quantitative)  Design of primers for PCR  Electrophoresis techniques  SDS-PAGE electrophoresis  Determination of different measures of oxidative stress in plasma and supernatants of cell Cultures Other skills  Word Processors; Data; Graphics; Pubmed  Statistics (using different programs such as Excel, Graph Pad Prism6, SPSS-20 and SATISTICA-8)  Microscopes (light, Laser scanning and fluorescence)
