East Street Arts Workshop. A drop-in arts workshop run by people who attend the East Between the Lines Exhibition and art therapy information workshop. A chance to learn Street Arts - Community Learning, Art and Design courses. A fantastic opportunity to get a taste of more about art therapy at a special view of the ‘Between the Lines’ exhibition. A heady mix of performances, ranging from drama and dance, to film and music, Highlights. ‘Highlights’ is the dazzling annual showcase of artwork by members of Arts & Minds. which showcase the best of arts and mental health projects in the city. Love Arts Windows. A trio of installations in public windows in the city centre by students Living with Dementia – The Artist Inside. An exhibition of work from an Art Group at the Leeds College of Art. Each one takes mental health as a theme and attempts to represent based at Swarthmore Education Centre in partnership with Adult Social Care-Peer Support Services the issue visually. The installations are viewable 24/7! Artwork by Visual Communication (BA Hons) and Leeds Memory Service. The group is for people living with dementia and their carers to students. participate in art activity in a supported environment. The aim has been to challenge the participants to really look at images, not just to draw and paint how they think it should look but to really examine the image. Lots of banter and good progression has led to the group blossoming and producing this wonderful work. Look Within. An exhibition of photographs by and of elderly people in Leeds. Moor Allerton East Street Arts Community Learning Exhibition. The East Street Arts Community Elderly Care’s Mind and Body project aims to increase older adults’ mental health and emotional Learning art and design exhibition features exciting and varied artwork created by groups of people wellbeing through a variety of approaches. This year photographer Lizzie Coombes led ten members from diverse communities across the City of Leeds, including groups of artists with mental health through a workshop using photography and portraiture to explore how we see ourselves and what issues and learning disabilities. There will also be a drop-in arts workshop run by some of the makes us who we are. Participants had a chance to photograph themselves and each other. The learners. (See page 6) group had varying levels of experience, including none at all! Over the course of the workshop everyone built their confidence in becoming a photographer in their own right.
