FORD EXTENDS ORDERING DEADLINE FOR 2015 F-150 Previously scheduled for August 1, 2015, has extended the fleet ordering deadline to August 14, 2015, for all remaining 2015 F-150 configurations. Ordering for the 2016 F-150 is scheduled to begin on August 17, 2015.

Ordering has already been finalized for the following 2015 F-150 configurations: all Regular Cab models, Super Cab models with an 8’ box, and 4x4 Crew Cab models with a 6.5’ box and HD Payload Package. Additionally, ordering for all VSO options is now complete.

FCA CLARIFIES SCOPE OF REMEDIES IN RECALL CAMPAIGN The following italicized excerpts are sourced from a Automobiles press release addressing a recent consent order issued by the National Highway Safety Administration. The content pertains only to the Ram portion of the consent order, as these units are newer model year vehicles that may still be in service. For the complete press release, which also addresses older models, please visit the FCA media site at http://www.media.chrysler.com/.

FCA US LLC announced it has entered into a consent order with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) which resolves the issues raised by NHTSA with respect to FCA US’s execution of 23 recall campaigns. The consent order includes an admission by FCA US that in three specified campaigns it had failed to timely provide an effective remedy, and that it did not timely comply with various reporting requirements under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966.

In the consent order, FCA US has agreed to additional remedies for the three recall campaigns covering approximately half a million vehicles, primarily 2008 through 2012 chassis cab, 2009 through 2011 light duty and 2008 through 2012 heavy duty Ram .

In each of those campaigns, FCA US will offer to owners whose vehicles have not yet been remedied, as an alternative remedy, to repurchase those vehicles at a price equal to the original purchase price less a reasonable allowance for depreciation plus ten percent. However, customers responding to the recall may continue to keep their vehicles and have them repaired in accordance with the original recall.

At present, FCA is defining the processes to amend fleet vehicles affected by the consent order. ARI will work closely with FCA through the remediation process and notify affected clients directly when a course of action is in place.

FCA ISSUES RECALL FOR RADIO SECURITY VULNERABILITY Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling approximately 1.4 million vehicles for software security vulnerabilities which could allow unauthorized third-party access to some networked vehicle control systems. Exploitation of these vulnerabilities could expose the driver, the vehicle occupants, or any other individual or vehicle with proximity to the affected vehicle to a potential risk of injury.

Models affected by this recall include 2013-2015 RAM Trucks and Viper; 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee and ; and 2015 , , Chrysler 200 and Chrysler 300 vehicles -- all equipped with a Uconnect 8.4” screen radio (sales code RA3 or RA4) built through July 23, 2015.

To remedy this condition, dealers will need to update the radio software.

Undelivered vehicles affected by safety recalls must be repaired prior to delivery. For in-service vehicles, FCA will notify owners of record instructing them to make a service appointment with their dealership.
