Houston is very culturally diverse and is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. Houston’s Hispanic population is rapidly increasing and currently constitutes more than 40% of the population. Houston has had a sizable African American population for much of its history since the early nineteenth century. Presently, about 25% of the population is Black or African American.
