Table Tennis Tactics How often have you thought that you had been the better player technically, but still managed to lose the game? In order to beat an opponent, you have to be more than technically proficient and learn how to apply your technique correctly through a better tactical appreciation of each game as it progresses. This book will show you how to do this, and it provides a thorough analysis of all the most important table tennis tactics. About the Book The book contains an age-appropriate collection of all aspects of table tennis tactics for young players. It helps you to read your opponent’s game and to decide how to play against forehand- or backhand-dominant players. There are also valuable tips on how playing tempo can be used as a tactical element, how to produce and read ball spin and how to influence it with a suitable racket surface, and how the service game is used to take tactical control of the game. With numerous photos and illustrations, a self-test questionnaire, profiles of the best table tennis players, the official rules and tactical know-how, this book will soon become your table tennis ‘bible’. • Table Tennis - Overview Table Tennis, Also Called Ping Pong, Is a Sport That Originated in the Victorian Period in England
COMPILED BY : - GAUTAM SINGH STUDY MATERIAL – SPORTS 0 7830294949 Table Tennis - Overview Table tennis, also called ping pong, is a sport that originated in the Victorian period in England. High-class people used to play table tennis after dinner. It was initially played by stacking books at the center of a table and hitting a golf ball with thick books. Table tennis needs a lot of attention and speed. Professional table tennis is played on a hard table which is divided by a net. Players stand opposite to each other, and hit a lightweight ball with a small round bat across the table. Spinning the ball makes the chances of hitting the ball a lot less. So, players tend to spin the ball before serving it to the opponent. Table tennis is played as singles as well as doubles. It is played in both men’s and women’s category. Table tennis is played by the rules set by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). Participating Countries Table tennis is not confined to England only. It is an Olympic sport and is played by many countries. Unlike any other sport, table tennis is governed by different governing bodies responsible for that particular continent’s table tennis. The top most governing bodies, apart from International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), are European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) for Europe and USA Table Tennis THANKS FOR READING – VISIT OUR WEBSITE www.educatererindia.com COMPILED BY : - GAUTAM SINGH STUDY MATERIAL – SPORTS 0 7830294949 (USATT) for United States. I am happy I seized the opportunity that has been given to me.” Nina Mittelham In the vital fifth match of the fixture Nina Mittelham recovered from 6-9 down, winning five points in a row to secure victory. “I did not think about the fact she is the European champion. What really was on my mind is the thought that I can play well against a player with the defensive style of play. I was shaking before the match but after it started I felt well; I felt the ball and my confidence rose.

Abteilung Tischtennis – Aktuelles 2009 - komplett (Januar – Dezember) GEK-Cup 2009 (Nachricht vom 26.12.2009) Auch in diesem Jahr trat der TSV beim GEK-Cup in Bettringen an.
