Walk Leaders Meeting Tuesday 4th February 7pm in Unitarian Church Berkley Street

For the next Walk Programme, May - October, Walk Leaders are asked to input their walk ASAP.

North Strathclyde Area

This year our group was host for the Area AGM. A big thank you to volunteers Anne Morgan, Betty Stowe who provided home baking and who were ably assisted by

Maggie Cairns in providing refreshments for everyone.

Delegates were treated to a talk on the John O'Groats Trail by trustee, Jay Wilson. The trail is featured in the present edition of the Walk magazine.

Following AGM business and after lunch, Ian Brooke led a walk across to Govan finishing in Elderpark.

Coach Trip February 8th is full.

For those lucky enough to book a seat please note that the meeting point & time for the coach plus the walk details are in the Walk Programme on the website.

Coach Trip March 14th Callander to Balquidder

This trip still has a few seats available. If you are interested in the coach trip then contact the Walk Leader, Alan Watt [email protected], who will confirm if you have a place. He will also advise about payment, cost of the trip is £14. Further details of the walks are on the website.

Braemar Weekend is FULL

Participants are required to have paid for their accommodation, £44, by 10th February. Please note that details of the walks are listed on the walks programme.

Magnificent 11 Path Maintenance There have been 2 path maintenance days so far this year and the volunteers have inserted Waymarking posts for the route covering Linn Park & Kings Park.

There is still further work to be done for parts 3 & 4 of the route. Countryside Ranger, Gary Linstead will be leading & organising the work which will include building steps, cutting foliage & vegetation.

The next dates for your diary are Sunday(s) 1st & 15th March. Volunteers are required, if you are interested in helping please let me know by email.

Weekend away October 2nd-4th

Ian Brooke & Bobby Robb have organised a weekend away at Ardrishaig staying at the Argyll Backpackers Hostel. There are a few places left but those are going fast . .
