Of the 120 Appeals determined in 2006/2007, the majority continue to proceed under the written representation procedure with 7 cases being dealt with at hearing and 2 cases at inquiries.

Outstanding appeals and timeliness

At the end of 2006/2007, there were 64 appeals in progress. At the end of 2005/2006 there were 58.

Conclusions

The number of appeals against the decisions of the IW Council has increased slightly. The overall percentage of appeals allowed remains well below the national average.
