BASKET & ENVELOPE COLLECTIONS: A sincere thanks to all who contribute so generously every weekend to all the various collections: The total last weekend was as follows- Weekly Envelope €646.70; Priests Collection €116; St. Patrick’s Day €12; Education Fund €60 (to date €591.30);

SAFEGUARDING: In the Diocese the Month of May has been dedicated to emphasising the importance of Safeguarding Children. A new Safeguarding Children Policy and Standards for the Catholic Church in was published in April 2016. This replaces the existing Killaloe Diocese Safeguarding Children Policy and Procedures. Over the next few months this will be communicated throughout the Diocese by information sessions. Dates can be found of the safeguarding page of the Diocese website.

LOURDES DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE: Lourdes has been designated as one of the International Jubilee sites for this Year of Mercy. The Diocesan Pilgrimage takes place from 26th June returning on 1st July. ROSARY AT THE GROTTO FOR MAY: The rosary will be recited each evening during May at the Grotto in Connolly at 8pm. It will be said at 6pm on Saturdays to facilitate people who want to attend evening mass. All are welcome and it will be said in the church if the weather is bad

THE KILLALOE DIOCESE JPIC COMMITTEE are pleased to invite you to attend the ‘Your Kingdom Come: A Spirituality of th JPIC’ talk which will be delivered by Fr. Gearóid Ó Conaire OFM. The talk will be delivered on Tuesday 17 May, 8pm in the Pastoral Centre, Ennis.Themes which will be explored include: An introduction to Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC)· JPIC’s foundation in Scripture, Church documents and Catholic Social Teaching· The role of JPIC in the life of the Church and its members. All are welcome to what will surely be a most relevant and interesting talk.

UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME FOLK CHOIR, U.S. will give a concert in the Cathedral, Ennis, on Tuesday, May 24th at 8.30pm. Their four-part harmony, ingenious blending of guitar, organ, instruments and percussion, and reverent diversity of style have allowed them to sing for World Youth Day, on the stage in Dublin, and in parishes throughout the United States, England, Ireland, Canada, Scotland and Down Under. Their music is an uplifting and joyous experience, and is used in many of our churches in Ireland. The concerts are free of charge, but any donations will be directed towards Sláinte an Chláir, . CLOTHING COLLECTION: Connolly N.S are looking for any used clothing. Please drop bags of clothes into the school before Monday 30th of May. They also may be dropped in to the school on Sunday 29th of May after 10.30am Mass. Bags of clothes will not be accepted after this date.

BAKING FOR BUGISI: Kilmaley girl Orla Hennessy is travelling out to assist the Our Lady of the Apostles Sisters on their Mission in Bugisi, rural Tanzania, where they provide vital and basic medical care to the local population, as well as spreading their faith. Orla is holding a raffle for a custom gourmet cake to raise money for the Clinic. This is a great opportunity to donate to a cause and know exactly where the money is going. HOST FAMILIES WANTED IN CO. CLARE: To host International students who will be on work placement during the summer months.
