"For those who don't know me, this cinematic experience with Canelo on March 8 will help you see why these hands always guarantee a great show. Please sit back, enjoy and get ready for a great performance." Mexican boxing superhero and pride of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Canelo Alvarez (42-1-1, 30 KO’s) returns to the ring hungrier than ever after a hard-fought loss to the pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather in September 2013. His bout against Mayweather marked the highest grossing pay-per-view event in history and made him a hero to thousands of boxing fans all around the world. Now, six months later, the 23- year-old is ready to make his highly anticipated ring return and prove to the world that he really does belong amongst the elite fighters of his generation. Alfredo “El Perro” Angulo (22-3, 18 KO’s) from Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico is a fan- favorite in the boxing world. The 31-year-old star embodies the guts and glory of a true Mexican warrior and has every intention of demonstrating this against the younger Canelo. Like Canelo, Angulo is also coming off of a controversial loss after suffering an eye injury during the ninth round of an exciting showdown against top Super Welterweight Erislandy Lara in June 2013. A win against Canelo would cement Angulo’s status as one of boxing’s most dangerous fighters and catapult him to the top of the list of world title contenders. “Six months ago, movie theaters were packed with boxing fans eager to watch the match-up between the reigning boxing kings of the U.S. and Mexico,” said Shelly Maxwell, executive vice president of Fathom Events. “We are thrilled to welcome Canelo back to another amazing fight as he and Angulo go ‘toe to toe’ for a night that will surely leave you on the edge of your seat.” -30- For artwork/photos related to “Toe to Toe: Canelo vs. Angulo,” click here. • Erislandy Lara on Upcoming Fight Against Vanes Martirosyan: “My Goal Is to Punish Vanes”
ERISLANDY LARA ON UPCOMING FIGHT AGAINST VANES MARTIROSYAN: “MY GOAL IS TO PUNISH VANES” LOS ANGELES, November 1 – After two years of talking, the wait is almost over and Vanes Martirosyan, will finally fight Cuban star Erislandy Lara. Lara, who is recognized as one of the best fighters in the world, and Martirosyan, an unbeaten 2004 United States Olympian, will put everything on the line in a 12 round WBC Super Welterweight World title elimination fight that will headline the Saturday, November 10 edition of HBO Boxing After Dark at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. from the Lafite Ballroom at Wynn Las Vegas. “The fight is almost here and the fans are in for a great night of action,” said the number one rated WBC super welterweight contender who has wanted to corner the trash- talking Martirosyan in the ring since 2010. “My goal is to punish Vanes in this fight because he’s been talking so much trash. This fight has been a long time in coming and I’m going to make him pay for his disrespect.” “I’m extremely focused and mentally prepared to give fans a great performance on November 10th,” continued Lara. “I’ve worked hard my entire life to get into position to fight for a world championship and Martirosyan stands in my way. Like all Cuban fighters, we bring a lot of heart and soul into the ring and this fight will be no different. I’m coming to establish myself as the best super welterweight in the world.” “This fight is dedicated to all those who are suffering and have lost their lives to Hurricane Sandy including the 11 Cubans who were killed by the storm,” continued Lara.

ROSADO WRAPS UP TRAINING AT WILD CARD GYM IN HOLLYWOOD; READY FOR BIG TEST JUNE 1 AGAINST SECHEW POWELL JUNE 1 AT SANDS CASINO BETHLEHEM NBC SPORTS NETWORK "FIGHT NIGHT" Bethlehem, PA-When Gabriel Rosado learned he was fighting Sechew Powell instead of Joel Julio on June 1, he and trainer Billy Briscoe booked themselves a trip to California for three weeks of training at Freddie Roach's famed Wild Card gym in Hollywood. "It's just what I needed," said Rosado (left), who meets Powell for the vacant WBO Inter- Continental Junior Middleweight Title at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem over 12 rounds, or less. "At first I wasn't crazy about fighting a lefty, but the junior middleweight division is full of them so it all turned out for the better. I'm talking about Paul Williams, James Kirkland, Erislandy Lara. These are guys I need to get in there with so fighting Sechew Powell is another step down that road. I'm getting plenty of good work at the Wild Card and I feel good and I'm looking forward to proving myself again. I know a lot of people are skeptical, saying that the last guy I beat (Jesus Soto-Karass) was made to order for me. We'll see if they right or wrong after June 1." The 26-year-old Philadelphian made a career statement Jan. 21 when he tore though Soto-Karass en route to a fifth-round knockout victory at the Asylum Arena in Philadelphia. Rosado, who turned pro in 2006 after only 17 amateur fights, has a 19-5 record as a pro with 11 knockouts.
