PASSING THE TEST: Lamar quarterback Jack Dawson became the Arlington ISD’s all-time leading passer last week, throwing for 371 yards against Euless Trinity. Dawson now has 7,171 yards, breaking the exist mark of 6,878 yards, set by former Arlington High quarterback Matt Joeckel from 2007-09.

HOW THEY GOT HERE: Bowie finished third in 4-6A and is the top Division II seed from that district. Tascosa finished tied for third in District 2-6A, and is the top Division II seed. AGAINST THE BEST: Bowie was 2-3 against this year’s playoff teams, beating Flower Mound Marcus and Arlington High, and losing to Rockwall, Lamar and Martin.
