It is notified for information of all concerned that the Hon’ble the Chief Justice, High Court, Calcutta, has been pleased to declare the 29th April, 2021 as ‘Holiday’ for the High Court at Calcutta and its offices, on account of General Election to the Legislative Assembly 2021, in the Chowrangee Constituency (Constituency No. 162) in , where the Hon’ble Court and its offices are situated.

It is further notified that since the Constituency-wise Assembly Election, 2021, is going to be held on 27th March and 1st , 6th, 10th , 17th, 22nd, 26th & 29th April, 2021, the Hon’ble the Chief Justice has further been pleased to declare the respective notified days as holidays for the Circuit Bench of at , the West Bengal Judicial Academy, the High Court Guest House at Bijan Bhawan and the Central Record Room at Dock Labour Board at Khidderpore, which come under the administrative jurisdiction/control of the High Court, Calcutta, as well as the concerned Sub-ordinate Courts and Offices, situated in the respective Assembly Constituencies, where such election will be held on the particular date as per Schedule below, keeping conformity with the provisions of Memorandum No. 1000-F(P2)/FA/O/2M/74/16(N.B.) dated 12.03.2021 of the Finance (Audit) Department, Govt. of West Bengal:-

The officers and members of the staff of the High Court/ Subordinate Courts who are residents and bona-fide voters in a particular Assembly Constituency where polling will be held on a particular day, but serve in the High Court / Subordinate Courts where polling will not be held on the same day, are given the opportunity to cast their votes on the respective day of poll of that particular Assembly Constituency by way of granting ‘Special Leave’ in favour of them, if applied for in writing with documentary evidence. In case of re-poll, the officers and members of the staff of the High Court/ Subordinate Courts are also allowed to cast their votes on the date of re-poll in the same manner.
