Very helpful for car to car communications during routes  Cellphone: Cell coverage is limited in the Hocking Hills, but always good to have one anyways.

Safety: OBEY ALL LAWS! You are on public roads with other vehicles! The routes we’ve chosen are all paved, but you may find gravel on the roadway from recent rain run-off. The hills are beautiful, but they also result in a lot of blind turns, humps w/ no visibility, etc. Please drive well within your capabilities.

Gas Stations:  Top off your tank prior to arrival. Some routes have gas stations noted along the route.  Two closest gas stations to Old Man’s Cave area are in South Bloomingville (corner of Rt 664 and Rt 56 about 5 miles from Hocking Hills Dining Lodge) and in Logan at OH664 exit from US33 in front of Walmart, 11 miles from Hocking Hills Dining Lodge.

Route management: The lead car should have a passenger serving as the route navigator with a radio. Keep in touch with the car in front and behind you. If group gets spread out, stop signs and route turns should be used to regroup. If you get separated from the group, continue to follow the route and use radio to reconnect. If all else fails, use your GPS to find your way to the ending spot. Turn by turn directions are provided for each route. Circled numbers along your route are mile markers for your route.
