Thursday, August 19 2021 Fall Orientation Schedule For the most up-to-date Fall Orientation schedule, please download the “Guidebook” app on your smartphone and search for the “2021 Furman University Fall Orientation” guide. Thursday, August 19 9:00-2:00PM Residence Hall Move In Look for the check-in tent in your residential area, where you will receive your key and important move-in day information. You will be able to unload your vehicle near your residence hall. A team of housing student student staff and orientation leaders will be available to assist you. Once your car is unloaded, we ask you move it from the unloading area to a designated parking lot. Please note: Masks will be required of everyone during the move-in period. 8:00-6:00PM Barnes & Noble Bookstore Open (Trone Student Center) Stop by the bookstore to stock up on your Furman gear, get your textbooks, and grab those last-minute school supplies. 8:30-4:30PM Enrollment Services Open (First Floor, Administration Building) Questions about tuition, billing, financial aid, student employment, and transfer credit can also be answered during this time. 9:00-5:00PM Daniel Chapel Open Students of any or no spiritual/religious tradition are welcome to utilize the Daniel Chapel sanctuary or meditation chapel for mediation or prayer during these hours. Students are also welcome to utilize the outdoor labyrinth (behind the building) during daylight hours. 11:00-2:00PM Lunch (Dining Hall) Meal plans are in effect, students can access the Dining Hall using the GET app on their phone. Parents and families are welcome to enjoy a meal for purchase in the Dining Hall or in the Paladen Food Court at Trone Student Center (please note that we will only accept credit card at these locations). Weather permitting, parents and families should eat in the outdoor space, located behind the dining hall. We ask that you please wear your mask while in line for food. 1:00-3:00PM Community Connections Fair (Hill Courtyard, Trone Student Center) Stop by the Community Connections Fair to learn more about all Greenville has to offer alongside our community partners that can make your visits to the area top-notch. 1:00-3:00PM Campus Tours (Front Patio, Trone Student Center) Is this your first-time stepping foot on Furman’s campus? Join us for an abbreviated campus tour, leaving from the front patio of the Trone Student Center. Tours will depart on the hour and half-hour. 1:00-5:00PM IT Service Center Open (Lower Level, Library) Need help configuring your computer to Furman’s network? Stop by the IT Service Center for assistance or schedule an appointment here. 3:00-4:00PM Commuter Student Meeting (Thomas Room, Trone Student Center) All new commuting students should attend. Orientation leaders will be available to answer your questions and accompany you to the first orientation group meetings. You are also invited to join us for dinner and all meals throughout Fall Orientation! 4:00-5:00PM Orientation Group Meeting (Furman Mall) All new students have been assigned to an Orientation Group, which will be led by two Orientation Leaders. Your group number can be found on your name tag. Orientation groups will meet on the Furman Mall – just look for a sign with your group number on it! In the case of rain, groups will meet in assigned classrooms. 5:00-7:00PM Dinner (Dining Hall) Dinner is available for students only. The Paladin Regiment marching band will kick things off with a concert, so feel free to head over early! Plus there will be free “FU ALL THE TIME” scarves given to all new students that attend. Get painted up, make signs for the match, and join us for an official march into the stadium. GO PALADINS! 7:00-11:00PM Dins After Dark (Trone Student Center) Join us for a night of fun in the Trone Student Center! Every inch of the hub for student life on campus is going to be filled with activities: Room 208: Canvas Painting Student Org Commons: Ping Pong Burgiss Theater: Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, and more!
