Updates from Flood Relief by SSSSO Aug 29th 2018 3:00 pm Disaster relief services in SSSVIP Model Village, Perunad, Pathanamathitta. SSSSO Sevadal of Perunad Samithi visited 50 flood affected families and distributed Premadhara kits for their rehabilitation.. 43 Sevadal from Trivandrum District reached out to colonies of Alleppey District. Mahila distributed kits containing 42 items to the residents while the Gents did the cleaning of houses and temple. Aug 29th 2018 10:00 am Disaster relief services were rendered in the Adopted Tribal Village Attathodu, Pathanamathitta District. DLSA (District Legal Service Authority) Sub-judge and Sri Sathya Sai volunteers jointly visited 25 flood affected families and distributed the necessary items for their rehabilitation.

Aug 28th 2018 9:00 pm Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation of Trivandrum District send a team of 35 Sevadal including Youth and Mahila to Chenganur under the leadership of District President. Relief and rehabilitation service was conducted in Allepey District. Kits of essential materials were sidtributed in the flood hit areas of Trichur District.

Aug 28th 2018 9:00 am Premadhara kits were distributed in the affected areas of Perumbavoor, District. Kits were distributed in Malapuram District. National Service coordinator of SSSSO Br Koteeswar Rao visited the affected areas and participated in the distribution. Aug 27th 2018 9:00 pm Kannur district youth of SSSSO did the cleaning and sanitization of wells in Chengannuru of Alleppey district, which was so badly affected and voluntters of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation were the first to intiate the process of cleaning houses and wells. Gave counselling to the affected women who were impacted the most after this havoc of nature. 150 numbers of Sai Premadhara kits were distributed to the households. Also 100kg of bleaching powder were distributed for the cleaning purposes. Cleaning Service was done in Alleppey district by the youth of SSSSO Kannur district. They also did cleaning and sanitizing houses of Alleppey district.

Aug 27th 2018 3:00 pm SSSSO volunteers started packing kits to be distributed at Kannur District. Aug 27th 2018 1:00 pm A team of 40 members from the Group of Associated Cement Companies, did the cleaning Seva of Sri Sathya Sai School at Alwaye. This is a team consisting of plumbers, electricians, Motor mechanics and workers. From Friday,24th August this team worked and completed the work. 31 School Bags were handed over to the SSA (Sarva Siksha Abhiyan) Officer .

Aug 27th 2018 9:00 am SSSSO volunteers started packing of materials at the collection centre in Pathanamthitta district from 7:00 am Aug 26th 2018 9:00 pm Sorting and packing of items for victims of flood at District stock point at Ezhamkulam, Pathanamthitta. Distribution of SSSPD kits took place in Nelliampathi, where eight landslides happened during the flood and military had to construct a temporary bridge. Relief kits containing all groceries, dresses and materials for women & children were distributed by SSSSO volunteers who dared to reach the difficult places. They also distributed the kits many other downhill areas also. Kits were also distributed in the forest area of . Aug 26th 2018 9:00 am Deep interior villages like Aamaida under Ambalapuzza Samithi in Alleppey district are still inaccessible or accessible with difficulty. Sevadal Volunteers are feeding villagers in camps and also helping villages recover in sanitation. In the second phase of rehabilitation project being carried out by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation Kerala, SSSSO volunteers cleaned and sanitized 110 houses in Nehru trophy ward. The villagers also joined hands whole heartedly and cleaned the houses of the bedridden patients... SSSO volunteers also distributed Sai Premadhara kits to the inhabitants of such cleaned house for their well being and happy living. 125 kg of bleaching powder were also distributed for the cleaning purpose. Aug 25th 2018 9:00 am Distribution of kits in food affected areas of Neyyattinkara, Trivandrum and Chengannur, Edanadu, Aug 24th 2018 9:00 pm Aluva Samithi served fried rice for more than 500 people at UC College relief Camp. Lunch served was relished by all inmates of the camp and felt it was the best they ever had in the camp. Well cleaning Seva was started on 22nd Aug, by Panamaram Samithi, Wayanad District, which still continues. Nearly 10 wells were cleaned. Aug 24th 2018 1:00pm Mr. Jyothilal, IAS, Secretary to the Govt in charge of the rescue operations deployed nearly 3000 fishermen who rescued large number of people in a span of 48 hours. He is an active worker of SSSO who felt divine intervention the process of rescue. Premadhara kits reached to be distributed in the flood affected colonies of Kannur District. Kits were distributed in SSSVIP colonies of Kannur. Also kits were distributed in Alwaye. Premadhara Kits reached Wayanad for distribution.

Aug 24th 2018 9:00 am SSSSO Volunteers are rescuing and protecting not just human beings also animals. Protection of life in every form and shape. Some animals like cow, goat, chicks, pups were stuck in the flood. Model SSSVIP Village Yuvadarshan Youth took a very brave step & thereby could save many of the animals. Their brave & kind act is really thought provoking & appreciable. Aug 23rd 2018 9:00 pm Kits were distributed in Alwaye Samithi, Ernakulam district ,Malapuram district and district.Kits which are to be distributed to the people are kept ready in Tirchur Samithi, Trichur District. Dr Sajeed, Associate Professor, Regional Cancer Centre in his message after witnessing the medical service offered by the Kattur SSSVIP during flood said, “To see the silver line in a cloudy sky is optimism. To get together beyond all borders is great humanity. We all continue this till the last of our fellow being is safe and comfortable. The Beach and Kattur SSSVIP model village people’s initiative did heal many in a comprehensive way. Wish this to be continued.”

Aug 23rd 2018 9:00 am With the festival of fast approaching (Aug 25th 2018) SSSSO volunteers are thankful to their Lord & Master for giving them a chance to have the best Onam till date, considering the huge opportunity they have got to serve the people in need. With many people returning to their homes and the SSSSO volunteers handing over Sathya Sai Prema Dhara kits consisting of basic necessities, it is ensured many will have a normal Onam. Sathya Sai Students who are serving at Puttaparthi, have sent 4300 Napkins, 100 dhotis, 300 sarees, 100 kids dress,100 churidars, 100 T shirts & pants for the youth. These will be distributed as ONAKODI (NEW ONAM DRESS) from Sri Sathya Sai Baba, to people who are left feeling they could not get new attires on the special day. SSSO Tamil Nadu has dispatched 1000 Sathya Sai Prema Dhara kits in batches of two, which also be distributed before Onam. Two trucks are expected from Bangalore. 150 kits worth Rs.1000 have been distributed by Aluva Samithi with a approximate cost of Rs.1,50,000/- in phase 1 of Flood relief seva. Aug 22nd 2018 9:00 pm Sai sisters from visited camps in Alleppey and distributed relief materials. Clothing and dress kits were distributed in Rajiv Gandhi colony in Calicut. Distribution of kits was done in Tribal colony in Malapuram District. Sanitation service was done in Trivandrum. Aug 22nd 2018 11:00 am Disaster Management team from Tamil Nadu formed 5 teams which split themselves into various flood affected region to carry out their rescue operations. One team worked with NDRF to rescue with the support of life boat. The team also employed simplified Disaster Management evacuation methods to bring out old people from their house to safe places. The team helped many people to get into lorries using human stand methods. A video of the immense seva done by the DM teams is updated in the Media section.

Aug 22nd 2018 5:00 am At the banks of Pamba river, Pathanamthitta District Groceries, drinking water, clothes etc were distributed. Relief material has also reached Pandalam area. In Olavakkode, Palakkad Sri Sathya Sai Bhajan Mandir distributed essentials to the people. Also 500 relief kits were sorted out which will be distributed on the Onam day to various houses in the flood affected area. All major relief camps in Palakkad ton and nearby are affected and closed. Aug 21st 2018 10:00 pm 190 SHE kits from Kannur sent today to Sri Sathya Sai Centre, Alwaye for distribution. Drinking water was distributed to the residents of Malapuram District. Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation’s SSSVIP youth along with DLSA (District Legal Service Authority) distributed all types of clothes, drinking water, baby napkins etc to the residents of Mukkam, Perunad Grama Panchayat. It included 40 families who have lost everything in floods.
