The gam of young sharks got a fair old Ron Barassi wind up (without the French) during the change and came out in the 3rd term a completely new team. After last week’s sleeting rain, we were happy to be presented with ne conditions, perfect for playing footy this week. The day was made even more special through honouring our diggers as part of ANZAC Day with all four teams linking arms and Grace Allen delivery a great ANZAC Ode. We also found ourselves in the unfamiliar position of having a bench after getting another registration, so welcome to the Shark Casey Prichard who had a great rst game and was keen to get involved from the rst bounce. Playing Bulleen-Templestowe we started the game of a little slow but found a good pace pretty quickly and had the ball spend good time at both ends of the ground. Our back 5 worked well together with the 2 Archie’s getting amongst everything, Charlie W continuing his great start from last week and Joel brining his trademark attack on the play whilst also supporting his mate Casey in his rst game. The second quarter saw the tempo go up a bit and put our back under pressure, but they stood up beautifully, led by the captain for the day Luca who was reading the play well and bringing his team into the game and particularly his sister Charli. Patrick continued to improve his game and Grace performed the smother of the day with some great defence and combined well with Lucas to get us out of trouble. The second quarter also saw Hudson score his rst goal for the Sharks, so congratulation Hudson and we look forward too many more. We started to hit our strides nicely into the nal 2 quarters with Coby in for his rst game and picking up where he left off, continuing to keep moving the ball forward. The 3rd quarter saw Jack continuing to attack the footy and being rewarded for his efforts with plenty of the ball, great to see from only his second game. We ran the game out well, with Alex, Arlo & Max all having really steady games and going in hard and hunting the ball. A special shout out to Alex & Max who put their hands up to support our opposition who were 1 player short, great to return the favour after many other teams have help us out in the past, so great sportsmanship boys. The boys didn’t let them down with Zane and Logan kicking great goals and Presty kicking one from the mid eld position. A special mention also Beau, Will T and Will F who also had a solid quarter and gave their everything. Wow, with a true Anzac spirit the boys fought back and were up by 5 points. The last quarter was a tough battle with both teams ghting it out.
