Mandora Site progress Gnome House (Site 8 on map) is a community arts centre which opened in May 2015. It provides local 12 residents with a large community creative space used for conferences, exhibitions, parties, weddings and performances. Build to rent at Blackhorse Mills Work is underway to build 479 new homes as part of the Blackhorse Mills development (site 1 on map). As part of the development 85 homes will be made available to rent at 80% of the average market rate (known as Discount Market Rent). An additional 19 homes will be available at London Living Rent (around two thirds of the average market rent) for local people saving to buy their first home. These homes will continue to be provided under the London Living Rent scheme when tenants move out. As part of the project, developer Legal and General is including 2,000 sq metres of commercial and community space which could include a microbrewery, grocery store and start-up business units. There will also be an outdoor landscaped area for residents to enjoy, with more than 200 new trees and other plants separating the reservoirs from the buildings. The scheme is due for completion in December 2019.
