This competitive solicitation is an invitation to bid (ITB) with The Florida International University Board of Trustees (hereinafter referred to as “FIU” or as the “University”) to enable FIU to enter into a contract with a Successful Respondent to perform the annual inspection and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers. The initial term of the contract will be for 5 years, and the University will have the option to renew for another 5 years. Renewals are not automatic. Successful Respondent(s) performance is expected to begin on March 2017. Environmental Health and Safety at Florida International University is responsible for managing the portable fire extinguishers maintenance and inspection program at several locations. The locations include: Modesto Maidique Campus, Engineering Center and Biscayne Bay Campus. Refer to Appendix V, FIU Portable Fire Extinguisher Inventory. FIU Environmental Health and Safety perform the required monthly inspection of portable fire extinguishers therefore, the monthly inspection of fire extinguishers will not be included as a service in this ITB.
