Dearest Loving Sai Youth,

“The future of the country depends on the skill and the sincerity of the youth. Therefore, the necessary enthusiasm and encouragement must be generated among the youth. All my hopes are based on the students, the youth. They are very dear to me.” - Baba

With the Divine blessings of our Beloved Bhagawan Sai, our Jagat Guru, Sad Guru, Universal Teacher, I thank the National Youth leadership for coming up with this magazine periodically and highlighting youth activities in Malaysia. Swami’s message is universal and eternal and transcends the limitations of space, time, race, gender, ethnicity, nationality and religion. HIS life is HIS message, and HIS message is .

It is very important that every Sai member has a clear understanding of his/her role to serve the society through the Sai Organization and at the same time gain a deeper understanding of Bhagawan Sri ’s teachings. Dear members of the Organization, once a devotee asked Swami what are the qualities of a good Devotee of Bhagawan and HE replied:

“They must revere their parents. They should not fall in sin of preaching what they do not practice. Whoever neglects their parents, allows them to suffer while enjoying a higher standard of life, does not deserve to be a member, for always stress the Vedic injunction, Matru Devo Bhava, Pithru Devo Bhava.” That is, revere your mother, father as God.

Every youth should reflect on this important message. Swami was a perfect son to HIS parents, cared for HIS family and walked miles every day to fetch water for them. HE was also an example of love and compassion. HE would never let anyone leave HIS home hungry and gave whatever little HE had even if it meant HE went without food. Swami was the embodiment of humility. HE had very few clothes yet never pestered HIS parents to purchase more. HE was an ideal role model for HIS friends. HE engaged them in service activities to alleviate suffering and turned the attention of the villagers towards God. Swami reveals through HIS example how youth should conduct themselves. We should emulate Swami in our daily lives.

Swami has given this assurance to all of us, “My Darshan will pour forth from me to and through you.”

Let us aspire to be HIS instrument.

It is my earnest prayer to our Beloved Lord Sai that we as HIS devotees drink the Divine nectar of HIS words, enjoy Divine bliss and redeem our lives by practicing HIS teachings.

Dear Youth, The second boon he asked for was “People may criticise me, make fun of me, hurt me, ridicule me or harm me out Remember You are the Present and the Future of of jealousy; grant me the heart which can bear this with Sathya Sai and its organization. Therefore stand-up fortitude; may my heart remain peaceful even if I am and walk the path. Delay not and make the offerings subjected to sufferings.” at the lotus feet while you are fresh, full of energy and vibrant now, for you are the Present and the Future of Sathya Sai.

As Swami has said start early, drive slowly and reach safely…so do good now, study His messages, put into action in daily living, it may be slow and sometimes jerky, you halt but continue consistently your efforts, and I promise you that all efforts made will not go to waste.

I would like to share an interesting and valuable narration by Swami about Jesus Christ. Please note that Jesus at that time was less than 30 years old. Once Jesus performed penance on a mountain and he realised his Self. He then prayed to God asking for three boons. The first boon he asked God was, “You have given me this life. I should use this life to serve all without causing harm to anyone. I should always be ready to forgive. I should not endorse untruth. Lead me to the path of truth”.

In this boon the famous Swami’s words come to my mind, Love All Serve All; Help Ever Hurt Never “I should also become full of love like You.”

In this boon we can infer that while we want tread the path of righteousness we may be ridiculed, when we have talents and use it for the goodness some people out of jealousy may hurt us with their words and/or actions but we must persevere dear youth!

The third boon was, “Oh Lord, fill my heart with love, so that I can share my love with all and devote my life to serve You and love You wholeheartedly. You are the embodiment of love; I should also become full of love like You.”

In this boon we can infer Jesus realised through his penance that God is Love and he want to emulate God…as Swami has said our purpose or the life mission is to know that we are Divine, and reach the point of I am I.

Please note that all the three boons requested were from a youth(Jesus)

Therefore always hold on to the permanent and its attributes. The permanent should be your objective in your life, and it is God. Learn to love God in fullness and you will become God,…and I too with His Guidence and Grace is plodding along the path, often slipping and sleeping along the way, but I am not going to give up…I pray you too walk the path always holding on to the lotus feet of our Master, Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba…

I wish you all the best and I thank You Message from Zonal Young Adult Coordinator: Dr Sathya Rao Jogulu "AS BIG AS THE UNITED NATIONS"

OmKaar/Sathyam Sivam Sundaram (SSS) is a bimonthly session for teen youths (15 years to 17 years old) and young adults (18 years and above) which have been conducted for the past 5 years from the year 2012 to 2017. The Omkaar/SSS session has been a catalyst for the development of other teen youth and youth activities. Moreover, many aspiring young leaders were identified during these sessions who are currently leading few activities in the central region and National team.

The main objectives in organizing these sessions were to reflect the life story of the Bhagawan Baba in current youth and teen youth perspective. Besides that, these sessions act as a bridging platform for the teen youths and youths, instilling leadership skills in event management among the youths of the host centre and to train youths to be well equipped facilitators.

Thus far, a total of 27 sessions have been hosted by at least 14 Sathya Sai Centres in the central region throughout these five years. Omkaar/SSS is not only about knowing swami but also a great opportunity to get to know teen youths and youths from other centres. A fun-filled alternative lifestyle is made relevant by the supposition that a youth is in present experiencing a lifestyle that in some form or other causes harm or degradation to his/her quality of life. It is a promise that through the prescribed activity, you will not just have fun and joy (something everyone is seeking) but also be having a lifestyle that does not corrupt or degrade the values and principles you live by.

It is in that vein that the Sai Youth members came together to organize sporting activities, which are by far the best way to attract fellow youth, and the most beneficial way to spend our hours outside of school and work.

In particular, the NVNK FC football and futsal games have been a mainstay in the calendar for the past years. NVNK FC (New Victorious Noble Knights) is a registered club with active attendance of about 18 people every week for indoor futsal and about 30 people every month for field soccer games. The NVNK football team has also reached out to other teams in order to spread the joy and happiness derived from the game with others.

. As a team that is led by Sai Youth Leaders, the principles of the club is founded and promoted to be upon discipline, team work and right values.

Since the inception of the group about 6 years ago and the official registration of the club last year, the group has grown in togetherness and improved the sense of duty the club. Football, or any sport for that matter, contribute in providing a healthy alternative to youth of today to steer them away from negative activities like drugs, alcohol, smoking, or just wasting time. As the morning games kick off early, the youth are naturally getting to bed early and not spending their time in the clubs and pubs or indulging in other negative activities. A membership in a registered club also brings values such as responsibility, duty and hard work to the everyday psyche of the individual. Youth who otherwise would be in pubs and clubs on Saturday night sleep in early and arrive for a 2 hour game of football on Sunday morning.

Those who show lack of discipline are given tough punishments, and the boys grow as they learn lessons on commitment, and sacrifice for club.

Through this activity, we have developed a successful alternative to other mundane fun-seeking activities of youth today, while deriving joy, fun and most importantly health benefits. Introducing the New National Young Adult Team

SSEHV has been a very beneficial program for me. It has transformed me in terms of discipline, responsibility, time management and most importantly, developing a ceiling on desires. Who I am today is solely because of Balvikas and the guidance of all my EHV gurus. I wish to contribute as a Balvikas teacher after graduating. I think that is the most valuable I can ever do because I would like to guide the younger generations like how my gurus did.

Throughout this journey, one of the greatest lessons I have learnt is to be confident in what I believe and to fight for what is right. I have also learnt how to empower the 5 human values not only in myself but also in the people around me. Last but not least, I have gained the opportunity to actively participate in seva, which grants me great peace and connects me to Swami.
