Munchkins Kids Cooking After School club @ All Saints Only 2 children so far – we may have to cancel!

Some information for parents…..

A fun, hands-on 12 week cookery class for children in KS2. Each week a different, healthy recipe will be made, encouraging children to try new foods, learn new skills, and make something to take home and share with the rest of the family. The aim is to give children the knowledge and confidence to be able to cook simple, nutritious recipes for themselves.

The focus will be on making ‘real’ food and learning useful, practical cookery skills such as weighing, measuring, cutting, peeling, grating and following written and verbal recipe instructions.

This after school club is suitable for keen cooks, fussy eaters, creative kids and anyone in KS2 who wants to learn some new skills in a fun environment!

Aprons, ingredients, recipe sheets and expert tuition from Joy Neal of Munchkins Kids Cooking are all provided. Children just need to bring a box with a lid to take food home at the end of each session. Cost £12 a week

(Please note: all recipes can be adapted for vegetarians)

All Saints’ Church Ride and Stride Sat 14 Sep

David Sanderson is organizing a team to cycle round some of the churches in the area, both on this side of the river and the other. Here are the details from him:

What is Ride and Stride?

Ride and Stride offers the opportunity to explore the diverse and beautiful places of worship across (and indeed the whole country). The intention is that walkers and cyclists should be sponsored to visit a number of places of worship over the course of the day. All the money we raise is shared equally between Heritage of London Trust and All Saints.

How can you participate?

1. Join the Cycle Ride that will progress anti-clockwise from Blackheath, to Woolwich, to West Ham, to Limehouse, to Aldgate, to Rotherhithe, to Peckham and back to Blackheath, visiting 8-10 churches and chapels, depending on the speed of progress! (Sponsorship forms etc available from David Sanderson).

2. Join a Walk. I am looking for volunteers to lead a walk. The walk could either start and finish at All Saints (locally St James Kidbrooke, St George’s Westcombe Park and St Alfege Greenwich are participating); or take a train into the City and visit, say, St Vedast alias Foster, St Lawrence Jewry, St Edmund King and Martyr Lombard Street and St Mary at Hill Lovat Lane.

3. Help welcome visitors to All Saints between 10 am and 5 pm, serving tea, coffee and biscuits

If you are interested please contact David Sanderson as soon as possible

Dear Lewisham Mums and Dads,

It has been an exciting summer for the Save Lewisham Hospital Campaign with our historic victory in the Judicial Review in the High Court on 31 July when the judge declared that Jeremy Hunt's decision to close Lewisham A+E and Maternity was unlawful.

This victory would not have been possible without your support and the support from all the people of Lewisham and our neighbouring boroughs.

There are still threats to Lewisham Hospital - the government has decided to appeal the decision, and wider government policies and attacks on the NHS mean that Lewisham Hospital remains vulnerable- so while we celebrate our important victory we will also be asserting that the fight goes on to defend our hospital.

We would like you to join us for a celebratory
