This dissertation examines Contingencies how the human mind learns numerical and emotional relations and explores consequences BART DE LANGHEBART - Contingencies for managerial and consumer decision making. First, we study how uncertainty in the environment affects covariation learning and Learning Numerical and Emotional Associations explore the consequences for consumers’ price-quality inferences and product valuation. in an Uncertain World Second, we examine how different types of accountability (process versus outcome) and analytical intelligence affect learning and judgment. We highlight the implications for employee performance management. Third, building on associative models of memory, we show that bilingual consumers perceive advertising messages in their native language (L1) to be more emotionally intense than advertising messages in their second language (L2). Finally, we explore the consequences of a greater perceived emotionality in L1 for international marketing research. The practical implications of this dissertation are of interest for professionals working ERIM in the area of pricing, branding, marketing research, and human resources. From a theoretical point of view, this dissertation relates to the fields of judgment and decision making under uncertainty and cognitive psychology. He was the eldest son and second child of Lt. Emil (Mille, hence Milles’ adopted name) Anderson and his wife, Walborg Tissel. Milles lived at a boarding house in Stockholm while attending the Jacobskala (1885-1892). When he left school he was apprenticed to a cabinet maker/wood worker and attended night classes (1892-1897) in woodwork, and later in carving and modeling. After this period of work-study, he attended the technical school full time and was awarded a prize of 200 kroner from the Swedish Arts and Crafts Society. He then accepted a position to help manage a school of Swedish gymnastics in Santiago, Chile. However, upon reaching Paris on his way to Marseilles (en route) to South America he changed his plans. Milles remained in Paris until 1904, attempting to support himself with work jobbed out by master cabinetmakers, while continuing to teach himself modeling and trying to establish professional recognition as a sculptor. -

The Written Word (1972)
THE WRITTEN WORD (1972) The Written Word is Tom Van Sant’s public art treatment for three distinct con- Artist: crete areas of the Inglewood Public Library. The work is cast into the concrete Tom Van Sant surfaces of the exterior stairwell column on Manchester; the lower level of an interior lobby, and an exterior wall of the Lecture Hall. Collection: City of Inglewood Van Sant explores the development of written thought in numbers, letters, Medium: theories and histories from diverse cultures in diverse times. Egyptian hiero- Bas-Relief glyphics, Polynesian counting systems, European cave painting and Einstein’s mathematical equations are some of the many images to inspire Library’s Material: patrons with the wealth of words found inside. Poured-in-place concrete Van Sant was commissioned through the NEA Art in Architecture program to work with Civic Center architects Charles Luckman and Associates, This artwork required special molds built in reverse so the texts and drawings would be cor- rectly read, a technique requiring a high degree of craft. The Written Word is one of the few examples of a poured-in-place concrete bas-relief in the Los Angeles basin and one of the largest to employ this technique in the world. Inglewood Public Library 101 West Manchester Boulevard Inglewood, CA INGLEWOOD PUBLIC ART EDUCATION PROJECT 1 Tom Van Sant Tom Van Sant is a sculptor, painter, and conceptual artist with major sculpture and mural commissions for public spaces around the world. Love Light Free Read
Carolyn Wren Love Light Free Read Love Light By Carolyn Wren An Adults only High Heat Sci-Fi Romance For more books, visit the ‘books’ page of the website www.carolynwren.com 1 Carolyn Wren Love Light Free Read Love Light Lord Roth pinched her nipple, just hard enough for erotic pleasure without crossing the line into pain. His skill in knowing the difference made Ria moan with desire. Eyes half closed, she watched their reflections in the mirror, enjoying the stark difference between his onyx skin and her pale, white flesh as he caressed and kneaded her breasts. ‘Harder.’ With one foot propped on a low table, and her legs spread wide apart, she had a clear uninterrupted view of him sliding in and out of her body, the long, dark shaft glistening with her juices. His thighs slapped against hers as he thrust. She wanted to reach down, to touch herself, but that would spoil her view, and voyeurism was very important to her today. She wanted to see her transformation, watch as her body came alive in swirls of darkness. ‘Touch me. I need to come.’ Lord Roth obliged without hesitation. One long fingered hand slid down her stomach and delved between her legs. He opened her folds, finding her pleasure zone with the accuracy of an experienced and passionate lover. Pleasure slithered along her nerve endings. The scent of arousal hit the air as more moisture poured from her body, coating her thighs and his fingers. His ragged breath was loud in her ears as he squeezed and massaged in an alternating rhythm, teasing and tormenting her. -
