he 2021 school year has consisted of various types of learning — fully re- T mote, hybrid, and about 25% of stu- dents being fully in person — but begin- ning 5, full time in-person learning is now being extended to all students. With just 7 weeks remaining in the school year, students are invited to attend all classes in person with the option to stay remote. It is expected that all students return to in person learning, but those who want to stay remote were asked to fill out an exemption form by March 15. The exemption form asked for the students’ information and their reason for wanting to stay remote. Recently, Zen Leaf, a chain that supplies medical and recreational cannabis, opened a new location's doors a few blocks away from Hersey. Despite the fact that students cannot purchase products at this store due to its age restriction, students, parents and teachers have voiced a wide variety of opinions about the store's opening in the vicinity of a high school. We spoke to members of the community to find out why the store was built so close to Hersey, what the business has been up to so far, and how people feel about it.
