Shelby, Ohio 44875 (419) 342-2256 A Sister Parish with St. Joseph, Crestline Member of St. Juan Diego Deanery Mass Intentions “Life Is What Happens While We Are Busy Making Plans.” All publicly celebrated Masses and other liturgies in the Diocese of Toledo have We are starting the last week of April and we should be receiving some news been temporarily suspended. about how much longer the restrictions from the shutdown will continue and if we can celebrate public Masses anytime soon. I am sure most of us expected the remainder of the school year to be cancelled, but it was still an awfully hard pill for me to swallow knowing that I will not have any more school Masses All the faithful are dispensed from the before I leave. obligation to attend Sunday Mass dur- ing this time in accord with the Code of I remember when I told all of you that I would be leaving the parishes. I told Cannon Law. you in January that we still had six months together, but with part of March and all of April wiped out my time here is down to two months. I am praying ear- nestly that we can see each other in person before I move, ‘still not my will, but Tuesday your will be done Lord.’ Mass Intention: For All Who Are You can call me ‘the Route 30 Priest’ since I will be traveling this stretch of Suffering as a Result of the road once again. My first assignment as a priest was St. Michael the Archangel Coronavirus/COVID -19 (Defend us in Battle!) Parish in Findlay. After one year in Findlay, I traveled Route 30 East to St. Peter’s Parish in Mansfield for a temporary four-month Wednesday assignment. I then went back to Findlay for almost two years. In 2012, I re- Mass Intention: For the Homebound ceived a new assignment and traveled Route 30 West to St. John the Evangelist of Sacred Heart Parish Parish in Delphos and St. John the Baptist Parish in Landeck. In 2014, I re- ceived my first assignment as a Pastor and traveled Route 30 East to come to St. Joseph and Sacred Heart Parishes. Now in 2020, I will be traveling Route 30 Thursday West to my new assignment- St. Mary of the Assumption in Van Wert. “East or Mass Intentions: Marge Swarer, Ray West, Fr. Chris goes to parishes that are the Best! -Rah Rah!” Briner, Bert Ruhe I am sure a lot of us are getting restless by this time and want the Spring weath- er to swoop in and make us feel more alive. This situation is not what we Friday planned. There have been so many lives adversely affected- People laid off, Mass Intention: Lee Gordon; Lena businesses that may not survive, struggling to pay the bills, High School Sen- Tesso iors, hospital workers, families dealing with the virus, churches, and the list goes on and on. Saturday This situation can be for many what St. John of the Cross called- “The Dark Mass Intentions: St. Mary Paulissa Night of the Soul.” A time when it is hard to pray, and we feel so ‘blah.’ But Klausing that is all the more reason to pray because without prayer a person can go from depression to despair. Make sure you take time each day to pray to the Lord Sunday even if it feels dry or useless. Eventually the feelings of consolation will re- turn, and your faith will be made stronger. Sacred Heart “Stay with us (Lord) for it is nearly evening (darkness) and the day (brightness) Mass Intentions: Mary Hoepf is almost over (Lk 24 v.29).”…..“Behold, the hour is coming and has arrived when each of you will be scattered to his own home and you will leave me alone. But I am not alone, because the Father is with me. I have told you this so St. Joseph that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take Mass Intentions: James and Rita courage, I have conquered the world (Jn 16: 32-33).” Linn; Dorothy and Joseph Marsano; “Bunny” Hauck; Barb & Bert Ruhe; John Thanks, and God Bless!!! and Marcella Barile Fr. It seems that summer has kicked into gear in many parts of North America a little early. The grass is turning green, the trees are beginning to bud and the snow shovels are put away for the season. There’s been a little bit of tropo. There’s been a little bit of skip in the south. There’s also been some horrible storms and tornados in places. We hope everyone is okay and stayed out of danger. This month we find that Ken Simon (Lake Worthless, FL) has rejoined the club.

Let us hope that the month of January turns out better for DXers like Jeff Falconer and Bill Hepburn, both of whom got caught in that terrible ice storm before Christmas that ran from Maine to the midwest. Bill reported about 1.1” of ice covering everything and Jeff had about ¾” of ice on his APS-13. As far as we can tell, no equipment got totaled in that event, which was just plain rain in many areas to the south. We welcome Stephen Parker to the WTFDA. Stephen lives in London, ON and for all we know, he could be Robert Ross’ neighbor. During the period from 11/14 through 12/22 we had renewals from Russel Lay, Bill Nollman, Randall Trapp, Wolfgang Schneiter, Ted Liczewski, Edward MacDonald, Marv Shults, Edward Ritchie, Matt Sittel, Les Prus, Roger Sabella, Chester Jaffee, Tom Bryant and Garth Jensen.
