Lauren Greenfield

Named by as “America’s foremost visual chronicler of the plutocracy,” Em- my-award-winning filmmaker/photographer Lauren Greenfield has produced groundbreaking work on consumerism, youth culture and gender for the last 25 years.

Her documentary films Thin, and Generation Wealth, and photography books Fast Forward, Girl Culture, Thin and Generation Wealth have been screened, published, and exhibited around the world where they have provoked international dialogue about some of the most important issues of our time. The Queen of Versailles won her the Best Documentary Director Award at the Sundance and was named by Vogue as one of the top docu- mentaries of all time. Her viral ad, #LikeAGirl, swept commercial awards, including 14 Cannes Lions (2015), was named 3rd Best Ad of the Decade, and earned Greenfield the #1 Director/ Most Awarded Director by AdAge, the first woman to top this list.

Her latest body of work, Generation Wealth, was released as a monograph which garnered her the The Paris Photography Prize (PX3), and the Photographer of the Year from the Art Directors Club. The accompanying exhibition opened in Los Angeles at the Annenberg Space for Pho- tography on April 2017 and has since traveled to the International Center of Photography in New York City, the Nobel Peace Center (Oslo) and the Fotomuseum (The Hague), and will continue on to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Copenhagen).

Her latest documentary film Generation Wealth opened the 2018 , screened at the Berlinale, SXSW, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York and is being released by Amazon Studios. In September 2018, she was given the LA Film Festival Spirit of Independence Award.
