Hannah Wells Designated Survivor
Hannah wells designated survivor Continue © 2020 ABC Entertainment's Margaret quigley (Maggie) FBI Agent (previously terminated) Presidential Emissary CIA Analyst First Appearance Pilot #identity/crisis Hannah Wells was a former FBI agent who investigated the U.S. Capitol during the President of the Richmond State Of the Union Address. She was played by Maggie Kew. Under the leadership of Tom Kirkman, Hannah became the lead investigator in the case of the terrorist attack that killed everyone present in the Capitol (except Peter McLeish, as it was later discovered). During the events of the first season, Hannah was the one who eventually found that Peter McLeish, the survivor of the Capitol bombing, was hiding in a bomb shelter near the Capitol and that he was connected to the conspirators responsible. She also discovered the identity of another conspirator named Catalan. Eventually, she was able to expose the conspirators who called themselves true believers and thus led to their downfall. She was working on an investigation into the murder of Eric Little, who was bribed by Alex Kirkman's mother. Which in the end, Alex Kirkman won, but then died in a car accident. She was working on an investigation against Andrea Frost, whom she believed to be a hacker known as Gamin, who was responsible for hacking NASA, the Washington, D.C.-based power grid, the president of Kirkmans Tape Therapy, and other hacks, resulting in several deaths, including Damian Renneth. She publicly humiliated Andrea Frost, accusing her of doing so and sabotaging President Kirkman after the president told her to find concrete evidence, and Frost admitted in a private conversation at a cabinet hearing against Kirkmans' ability to remain in office. -

UNIVERSES, Whose Theatrical Works Fuse Poetry, Theatre, Jazz, Hip-Hop
Who Are UNIVERSES? UNIVERSES, whose theatrical works fuse poetry, theatre, jazz, hip-hop, politics, down-home blues and Spanish boleros, came together in 1995 in the open mic scene of New York City. Steven Sapp and Mildred Ruiz-Sapp were performers at the NuYorican Poets Café in Lower Manhattan who blended their talents. William Ruiz (a.k.a. Ninja) auditioned for UNIVERSES in 2004 after graduating from college and became a core member of the ensemble. Over the group’s 20-plus-year career, they have created and/or performed such pieces as The Ride (1998), Blue Suite (a.k.a. Eyewitness Blues) (2004), The Last Word (2005), One Shot in Lotus Position (2006) and others. They presented their pieces at places such as the Actors Theatre of Louisville’s Humana Festival of New American Plays, Berkeley Repertory Theatre and The Public Theater and have performed in Poland, Chile and Colombia. Their first show and one of their better- known works is Slanguage, which premiered in 2001 at the New York Theatre Workshop, directed by Jo Bonney. Since then, they have continued to write and perform nationally acclaimed shows that are socially conscious and rooted in historical narratives and icons. Ameriville, which premiered at the Actors Theatre of Louisville in 2009, focused on their observations of the people affected by, and their social commentary of, the politics surrounding, hurricane-ravaged New Orleans. For Party People, the group interviewed members of the Black Panther Party and the Young Lords to capture the challenges of their activism in the 1960s and the legacies of that work. -

October 2020 Newsletter
Ireland's Approach to Women, Peace and Security Newsletter October 2020 We would like to warmly welcome you to this newsletter as we mark Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Month and the 20th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325. It is a time to celebrate what the WPS agenda has achieved, but also for honest reflection on remaining challenges and the way ahead. While there have been landmark achievements in the last 20 years, women peacebuilders in the field are calling for a renewed commitment to more effective implementation and a considerable change of pace. WPS Annual Open Debate As we approach the WPS Open Debate on 29 October, let us recall the words of our Permanent Representative to the United Nations at the last debate in 2019: “The fact is, those who wage wars – not, in the main, women – continue to set the parameters for peace. Without women. Quite apart from the inequality this reinforces, let’s be clear. It is also fundamentally ineffective as a peacebuilding approach. We have the evidence that peace is more durable when women have participated in its negotiation... Put simply, WPS ought to be part of all our peacebuilding work. In this chamber, that means part of every mandate renewal, of every geographic and thematic discussion, of every local consultation, of every analysis completed in the field.” Upcoming Events GNWP Database Launch event We would like to invite all of the readers to the launch of a database on the role of women in peacebuilding during the Covid-19 pandemic, developed with Ireland’s support by our partners the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders and UN Women (register here). -
