SPENCE-TACULAR: Since being acquired by the Cavs on Feb. 20, Spencer Hawes is shooting .444 (44-99) from the three-point line. Hawes has nailed at least three triples in 10 of his 25 games with the Cavs. Overall in 25 contests with Cleveland, he has six double-doubles and is averaging 14.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 30.4 minutes per game. IRON MAN: Tristan Thompson is the only Cavs player to play and start in every game this season. Dating back to March 18, 2012, Thompson has started in 187 straight games. Overall, he has played in 204 consecutive games dating back to Feb. 10, 2012. Through 80 games, Thompson has also recorded a career-high 34 double-doubles, which is tied for the 5th-most in the Eastern Conference (tied-14th in NBA). Their reserves have scored at least 40 Eastern Conference in 2013-14 points 28 times this season, and 50 or more points 14 times. Cleveland’s 60 bench points in a 109-100 win at Team PPG Orlando on Dec. 13 were the most scored by the Cavs reserves since April 11, 2011 at Detroit (61 points). In the 1. Brooklyn Nets 38.4 win over Sacramento on Feb. 11, Dion Waiters scored 20 points off the bench and Anthony Bennett contributed 19 2. 35.4 as a sub. MOVING ON UP: Anderson Varejao has had huge performances in the 2013-14 season. He also continues to move up in several Top 10 categories on the Cavaliers all-time leaders list in 2013-14.

 Among East leaders, he ranks 5th in rebounds per game (9.7, 14th in NBA), 7th in offensive rebounds per game (2.9, 16th in NBA) and 6th in defensive rebounds per game (6.8, 16th in NBA).

 In 21 contests from Dec. 26-Feb. 9, averaged 12.6 rebounds to go along with 10.0 points, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 32.4 minutes over that stretch.

 Against Dallas on Feb. 3, Anderson Varejao tallied 10 points and five rebounds to become just the 4th player in Cavs history to surpass 4,000 points and 4,000 rebounds for his career. He joins Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Brad Daugherty and John Williams as the only players in in the team’s record book to reach those marks.

 He dished out at least three assists in a career-high nine straight games from Jan. 10-26.

 Varejao tied the franchise’s single-game record with 25 rebounds in the 87-81 win over Orlando on Jan. 2 (Rick Roberson on 3/4/72 at HOU).

 In a 98-88 win over Denver on Dec. 4, Varejao recorded a season-high 18 points on 7-9 (.778) shooting, 13 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a season-high tying three blocks in 28 minutes off the bench. The last Cavs bench player to have at least 18 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks was John “Hot Rod” Williams on December 11, 1991 (18 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks vs. MIA).

 In an overtime contest versus the Bobcats on April 5, Irving recorded a career-high 44 points on 16-31 (.516) shooting, including 5-9 (.556) from the three-point line, seven rebounds, a game-high eight assists and three steals in 43 minutes.  At the 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, Irving became the 2nd-youngest player to ever earn MVP honors of an All-Star Game (L. James).  Irving has scored a league-high 55 points in overtime this season and his 7.9 overtime points per game are the 2nd-most in the NBA (minimum: 2 OT games). His 12 points in the second overtime on Dec. 26 versus Atlanta was one point shy of tying the most points scored in a single overtime in franc hise history (LeBron James, 13 points in second OT on Jan. 24, 2007 vs. PHI).  Irving has also been solid in the fourth quarter with an average of 6.1 points (8th in NBA). Against the Wizards on Nov. 20, Kyrie Irving scored 18 of his game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter, the 3rd highest scoring fourth quarter of his career. In the 2013-14 season, Irving has scored at least 10 points in 12 fourth quarters.

 In a 99-79 over the Utah Jazz on Feb. 28, Irving notched his first career triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists.

 In the win over Milwaukee on Dec. 20, he had 39 points on 13-25 (.520) shooting, six assists and a career-high four blocks in 42 minutes. Since blocks became an official stat in 1973-74, Irving is the only Cavs guard to post 39 points and four blocks in a single game.

 Irving was named NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Dec. 9-15 of this season, marking the 2nd time he has won the award (Jan. 21-27, 2013)

 For just the 3rd time in Cavaliers history, a Cavs player tallied at least 40 points, nine assists and four steals in a single game when Irving put up those numbers against Atlanta on Dec. 26. The only other times that feat was accomplished in Cavaliers history were March, 5, 2008 (LeBron James, 50 points , 10 assists, four steals at NYK) and March 13, 1979 (Campy Russell, 41 points, nine assists, four steals vs. PHX).

 In the Dec. 10 win over the Knicks, he became the first Cavs player since World B. Free on March 29, 1986 (43 points, 11 assists, 0 turnovers) to tally at least 37 points and 11 assists, while having one or fewer turnovers in a single game. Before Irving, the last NBA player to accomplish that feat was Kobe Bryant on December 29, 2009 (44 points, 11 assists, one turnover versus Golden State).

NICE RUN: The Cavs experienced its first six-game winning streak (Feb. 7-19) for the first time since winning eight straight contests from March 8-24, 2010. During the win streak, the Cavs outscored its opponents by 10.1 points per game (103.8 to 93.7). The Cavs also won three straight road games during that streak, which was the first time since Nov. 5-9, 2010 (at PHI, at WAS & at NJ) that has happened.
