Key Findings

There is sufficient number of 2, 3 and 4 year old funded places across the area with 375 places available at any one time for 327 eligible children

For 0-2’s no children at all can access a childcare place

The area has no children living in the 20% Most Deprived areas (IDACI)

In addition to future growth through planning permissions over the next 5 years 500 new homes are being planned in (an additional 162 funded places if/when homes occupied)

Migration of children to childcare providers within and without the area for summer 2018 is -21 with 89 coming in and 110 going out

The Out Of School Clubs appear to meet demand during term time. There is one holiday club provision in the area and it is not known if there is unmet demand Parents currently have a choice of the type of provider they can access

Ofsted rated ‘Good or Outstanding’ is at 100% for group providers and 100% for childminders New provision would need to be of high quality to compete in this market and provide a flexible offer to meet parents needs
