Who we are:

Architects of Invention (AI) is an international partnership practicing contemporary architecture, urbanism, and cultural analysis around the globe. The office is led by Niko Japaridze and Anton Khmelnitskiy. To accommodate a range of projects throughout the world, AI maintains offices in , Moscow and Tbilisi.

Our ambition is to establish an international practice bringing innovative ideas and sustainable solutions across the world. Our method involves careful observation of MASTERPLANS situation, a keen understanding of environment and change through minimal intervention and recombination. We seek to establish positive rules creating enlivened, dynamic spaces that engage with societies. Architecture is for society and our simple aim is to improve living standards and quality of life, creating ease and enjoyment for users. We look for ways to design objects that can accommodate many functions simultaneously. Our credo is that material has no dimension and that scale is transcendence. TOWERS

Architects, researchers, designers, model makers, industrial designers and graphic designers work in close collaboration, and expert consultants are intimately involved from the beginning of the design process.

Nikoloz Japaridze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (1974). He studied architecture at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and afterwards graduated from Moscow Architectural Institute in 1997. His PhD thesis was entitled "A Minimal Dwelling for Extreme Situations". He pursued further studies at the technical university in Delft before opening his own architectural studio in Moscow in 2002.

His Moscow studio was called AMC (architecture, music, cinematography) and it produced over twenty building projects and collaborations.

In 2006, he moved to London where he worked with two UK-based architecture companies: KPF (Park City, Moscow Development project) and EPR Architects (Poole Quayside Housing Development project). Subsequently, he became a Senior Architect at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) in Rotterdam with a specific focus on projects such as: high-rise residential towers and a new masterplan in UAE; and the Zayed Stadium Renovation Competition in Abu-Dhabi UAE.

He is currently a principal of Architects of Invention in London, Moscow and Tbilisi.

Anton Khmelnitskiy was born in Moscow, Russia (1974) and studied at the Moscow Architectural Institute where he graduated in 1997. He spent his year out in the Netherlands working for Royal Haskoning and MVRDV. In his early career Anton joined Alsop Architects working on a first-class A office building in Moscow called "Millennium House". In 1999, Anton relocated to their London office and focused on a number of iconic schemes in London, including Palestra and Victoria House.

Anton joined Foster + Partners as an associate partner in 2005 and was made a partner in 2009. He has overseen several major schemes in Russia, including the proposed reinvention of New Holland Island in St Petersburg from a military facility to a major cultural centre; the restoration and extension of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts; Zaryadye Masterplan and the Red October Development in Moscow; the new HQ for the Russian Copper Company in Ekaterinburg; and the Valery Gergiev Cultural Centre in Vladikavkaz.

He is currently a principal of Architects of Invention in London and Moscow.

Prefabrication & Recyclability of Demolished Part of The Building Demolition

The prefabrication of all building parts or elements guarantees a highquality, especially concerning strength, New Columns & surface qualities, colours and low geometrical tolerances. Prefabrication is also essential to achieve a high Superstructure erection speed since the production of the parts can be ready-madein factory. With regards to environmental Existing Concrete concerns, prefabrication is the basis for easy-to-recycle buildings since each single part will be designed by us Structure either as a monomaterial piece (one material per part only)or if several materials need to be assembled Car Park Car Park together in order to form one element, these material components will be easy-to-separate and subsequently Steel Frame Ball easy-to-recycle. Despite the fact that buildings typically stand for a relatively long time, the reduction of building waste is essential to reduce the production of waste in total. In Germany, for example, building waste is 70% of total waste production. Prefabricated elements which follow the outlines described above can be either reused (cradle-to-cradle)or they can be downcycled (a steel beam might become a car body or an aluminium facade panel might become a juice can). In order to allow for such perfect recycling, the identification of the building Car Park Car Park elements is essential. Entrance/Exit Entrance/Exit Following techniques developed by the German car industry, the prefab-elements will either show a bar code or have an embedded Radio Frequency Identification tag. A RFID-tag is a chip typically 2x2mm or 2x4mm in Assembled Axonometric Structural Volume size and it contains all information about a building part suchas producer, material type, recycling regulation etc. RFID-tags do not contain batteries. It is in permanent sleep mode, only activated by aspecial reading unit which Steel grid roof supplies the energy. with glass infill

Roof Support Columns with fork heads

New Building Structure is made of steel truss frame and a column-free steel structural facade. To achieve the Double louvers facade skin most economic solution, many parts of the building were designed with the same structural elements as prefab- ricated units. This standardization ensures a fast, simple, and economic construction process. Foundation solution to be confirmed pending site investgation. To guarantee the greatest possible flexibility on each of the floors, the floor slabs are planned as prefabricated elements of steel. The slabs are supported by access core, which consists of steel frame as well. Where large free spaces between the facade and core are needed, the slabs are strengthened use a grillage of trusses. The vertical loads of these areas are hung back by diagonal hangers which consist of prefabricated steel composite tension elements. Conclusion To sum up one may say that for all elements of new framinstructures, the design has been specifically devel- oped to be sustainable, simple and economic while not hindering or restricting any changes the user may want to execute at a later stage. Steel frame offers quick construction, excellent quality control and easy prefabri- cated element installation. Lift & Stair Core
