Today GM Powertrain’s all-alloy 60-degree double overhead cam (DOHC) Global V6 engines power a variety of vehicles around the world. GM Holden is a producer as well as a user of Global V6 engines. In 2003 its newly commissioned $400 million Port Melbourne V6 engine plant began building Global V6 engines for export. In August 2004 Alloytec Global V6 engines were introduced to the Australian market with the Holden VZ Commodore and WL Caprice and Statesman model ranges.
