SEAN DUNLEAVY A Queen’s graduate from the Faculty of Education, Dunleavy is entering his 15th season coaching with the Women’s program, currently focusing his eforts on team Defense, Back Play, Sevens and Recruiting. In addition to Queen’s, Sean has been a mainstay with Rugby Ontario’s Jr. Women’s programs as a Head and Assistant coach, acted as a Guest Coach/ Selector with Canada U20 on several occasions and was appointed as a Support Coach for the Canada U18 program during their 2015 developmental camp. Recently, Sean has lead the Eastern Ontario Jr Women’s Sevens program and is one of the program coaches with Rugby Ontario’s U18 Girls Sevens . A club (Kingston Panthers) and high school (Napanee DSS) coach as well, Sean is pursuing Team Co-Captains entry into the Advanced Coaching Diploma program and is a teacher locally at the elementary level.

2018 CHAMPIONSHIP 2018 U SPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship: Gaels looking for frst Monilex Trophy

TORONTO (U SPORTS) – Heading to Nova Scotia as the OUA Silver medalists, the Queen’s Gaels are looking to capture their frst ever U SPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship and will enter the tournament as the No.7 seed.

The Gaels are coming of a 2017 U SPORTS championship appearance and OUA silver medal and had their sights set on the conference and national titles once again.

Queen’s went 3-1 during the regular season, beating Western (68-10), McMaster (34-14) and York (90-5), while only falling to eventual conference champion Guelph (39-34). The Gaels also swept an exhibition series against the No.2-nationally ranked StFX X-Women in preparation for the playofs. In the post-season, Queen’s was able to stay in front late and take a 29-24 win over McMaster, setting up a rematch of the 2017 OUA fnal with Guelph, where they eventually fell 39-14. Conference all-star Nadia Popov and OUA MVP Sophie de Goede were able to put down tries for the Gaels who came away from the match with OUA silver.
