Our Mission

The Holy Parish family grows in their personal relationship with God the Father through the wisdom of Jesus in the Eucharist and the seven sacraments by the aid of Mary, the Mother of God, and St. Joseph, protector of the Holy Family, to know ourselves as ones being made in the image and likeness of God and to see God in our neighbors that we may serve them. 2224 45th Street, Kenosha, WI 53140 262-652-2771 - hrosarykenosha.org Office Hours: Monday - Friday 10:30 am – 2:30 pm He is Real!

For many of us that go to Mass every Sunday or Saturday evening, we see and hear the priest say the words of consecration and know that Jesus is before us. Jesus is really present to us, but more personally to you. The catechism tells us that “Christ Jesus … is present in many ways to His Church: … But “He is present … most especially in the Eucharistic species” (CCC #1373). Not that Jesus is a symbol in the Eucharist but He is really present in the Eucharist. “The mode of Christ’s presence under the Eucharistic species is unique. It raises the Eucharist above all the sacraments as “the perfection of the spiritual life and the end to which all the sacraments tend.” In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist “the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained.” “This presence is called ‘real’” (CCC #1374). However, do we sometimes doubt or have we become desensitized to the realization that Jesus truly exists because of the routine of Mass? You are not alone. Some priests, while saying the Mass, had doubted the true presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. However, God responded in a beautiful way through a . The miracle was the Eucharist manifested itself, meaning it showed its true presence. Here are few Eucharistic , but there are many more even, so I encourage you to look them up and read about them. One is the Miracle of Lanciano (8th cent.) where the bread and wine turn into actual flesh and blood. The other one is where a priest doubted the presence and Jesus bled on the corporal. This is called the Corporal of Bolsena (13th cent.) and it can be seen in the city of Orvieto, Italy. This started the feast day of Corpus Christi, which we celebrate today. See in the miracle of Jesus’ true presence has helped us to believe even more what we believed in faith. Jesus is with us, present to us always in the Eucharist either in the tabernacle or in the monstrance. So when you receive Jesus in communion remember that He is real and He is giving Himself to you, out of love for you.

God Bless, Fr. Joseph Lappe, MIC

Ministry Fair Welcome Home Parish Family! Join us for our Ministry Fair Saturday June 12th and Sunday June 13th following each Mass. We’re so pleased to have everyone back at church for weekly Masses and invite you to our Ministry Fair to learn how you can answer God’s call to serve. Enhance your personal relationship with Him by exploring our Parish family’s many ministries. Today as we celebrate the gift of the Body and Blood of Christ, let us pray for those who are hungry, malnourished and starving. If there is a family you know who needs assistance, please call the Holy Rosary Conference of St. Vincent de Paul @ 262.287.8810 Holy Rosary and we will return your call. “One day you will wake up and realize there isn’t any more Conference time left to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it NOW.” Words of Wisdom. Thank you for your generosity in helping our cause to help the poor and needy. City-Wide Outdoor Mass at Pennoyer Park The annual City-Wide Outdoor Mass at Pennoyer Park will be held on Sunday, June 27th at 10:00 a.m. with Archbishop Listecki and The Knights of Columbus. We are in need of singers and instrumentalists to help provide beautiful music for the mass. If you are interested, please contact Tami Nelson-Payne, St. Peter at [email protected] or (262) 930-1067.

On June 4, 2021, we completed our 10th year as All Saints Catholic School. We have much to celebrate and be thankful for as we reflect on these 10 years. We are thankful to our parents and families who see the value of Catholic education, and we are grateful for the many sacrifices that are made to provide this education to their children. We are thankful for our faith-filled principal, teachers and staff for their leadership, dedication and passion they display as they care for, nurture, and educate each child that walks through our doors. At 10 years, we remain true to our mission, “Together we will teach children to see the world through the eyes of Christ and to model the lives of the saints in a rigorous academic environment.” Please consider joining us for our 11th year!
