Guitar Center and Jenna Enemy Announce Women Who Rock Festival: A Celebration of Fierce Females Who Rock the Music Industry.
Roseville, MN Guitar Center announced today that it will be launching it’s first ever rock festival geared toward female musicians and music professionals. Built from the ground up by Jenna Enemy, a rock musician and Guitar Center associate, this event will the the first of its kind produced. It’s mission: to raise awareness that females are not only present in the music industry but are rocking it!
“A group of young women came into the store with their boyfriends.” Enemy continues, “They were sitting down, texting, and completely uninterested in their man’s noodling on the guitar. When I asked if they had thought of playing guitar, it seemed as if a switch went off and ignited something in them. Once I handed them bass guitars and showed them a few things, I couldn’t get the instruments out of their hands. At that moment, I knew we had to do this festival.”

The Women Who Rock festival features live bands, keynote speakers, opportunities to meet professionals in the industry, classes and clinics, and a miniNAMM gear show.
The event also houses a silent auction to benefit Girls Rock and Roll Retreat; a one week camp devoted to helping girls learn empowerment through forming and performing in original bands! Items you can expect to see are Lzzy Hale’s (Halestorm) autographed tour outfit, autographed Veruca Salt albums, gear autographed by Orianthi (Touring guitarist for Alice Cooper, Carrie Underwood and Michael Jackson), merchandise from Joan Jett’s record label: Blackheart Records, a brand new Taylor guitar and more!
“What’s really inspiring to me is how the community has embraced this festival and its cause almost immediately,” Says Enemy. “Numerous vendors, companies, and individuals have banded together to help this event come to life. It has become so much more than I ever imagined.”
Women Who Rock takes place from 11:006:00 PM on Sunday, September 15th outdoor the Guitar Center Roseville location. The festival is free and open to everyone, but be sure to arrive early to get your free gear grab bag (guaranteed to the first 50 attendees).
“I guess the only advice I have to offer is that there is no can’t, especially in the music business. Instead there are many different ways of can.” Enemy continues, “ I hope this festival inspires women to become future performers and music business professionals as we celebrate the fierce females who have already paved the way.”
