Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy:

For the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, Francis is granting indulgences to people who visit four papal basilicas or a cathedral where they live; to anyone who “performs just one of the tradi- tional works of mercy;” and also to prisoners, those suffering from illness, or elderly people who at- tend or pray wherever they can.

The Year of Mercy in the Archdiocese of : The following churches in the Archdiocese will have a designated Holy Door:

 Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church The opening of the Holy Door is scheduled for Dec. 13 at St. Mary Cathedral at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass celebrated by Thomas Wenski. The same day all other Holy Doors in the Arch- diocese of Miami will open.

 Rev. John Mary Pérez, SOLT, was appointed Chaplain of Catholic Hospice, effective Nov. 9, 2015.

Requiescat in pace: † Fr. Ignacio Carbajales, a retired incardinated priest of the Archdiocese of Miami passed away on Oct. 22, 2015. Fr. Crabajales worked with the Cuban community for many years and in several par- ishes of the archdiocese including St. John the Apostle Church, St. Brendan Church and as Parochial Vicar of St. Cecilia Church. † Joseph “Joey” Marino, brother of Fr. Gold and Silver Wedding Anniversary Mass: All husbands and wives married in the Catholic Church celebrating their Silver, Gold or 50 plus wedding anniversary in 2016 are invited to come to a Mass at St. Mary Cathedral on Saturday, Feb. 13 to be blessed by Archbishop Thomas Wenski. Couples interested in having their picture taken with Archbishop Wenski should be there at 4 p.m. Mass starts at 5:30 p.m. Couples will sit in a special designated area in the front pews. All couples should contact their parish to register for the Mass.

Evening of prayer for Youth and Young Adult Ministry: Friday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Church. All are invited to join the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Eucharistic Cenacle with the Servant Sisters of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The Cenacle includes the celebration of Mass, Holy Hour, and prayer for all Youth and Young Adult ministries of the archdiocese. The Office for Religious of the Archdiocese of Miami invites you to a Holy Hour. During each month of this year of grace, we will pray as an ecclesial community before the Blessed Sacrament in thanksgiving for the gift of Consecrated Life and for an increase of vocations to the religious life.

Advent reflection: The Office for Religious has prepared an Advent Reflection for all the religious of the Archdiocese of Miami.
