A fee composed of categories for salaries, programming, general expenses, and Summer 2020 utilities. A mandatory fee composed of the four fixed and mandatory transfer components: debt service, renewals and replacements (R & R), campus administrative charges, and general University charges. A mandatory fee which is assessed to all students for salaries, programming, general expenses, and utilities. Supports a campus and community transportation plan for students; $26 maintains the SafeRides program and enhances late night transportation. STUDENT INSURANCE: Undergraduate - $TBD per semester; Graduate - $TBD per semester. TBD/TBD A group sickness and accident plan which provides world-wide coverage. ACADEMIC FACILITY MAINTENANCE FUND ASSEMSSMENT (AFMFA): $346 per semester. An assessment to support deferred $260 maintenance and facility renovations for academic buildings. The fee is pro-rated based on enrolled hours. LIBRARY/INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FEE: $244 per semester (LAW LIBRARY/IT FEE: $274 per semester). A fee used to aid in the $183/$206 transition toward electronic media and digitalization, increase library hours, improve information technology services, strengthen opportunities for research technology and assistance, and enhance access to both electronic and print material collections. The fee is pro-rated based on enrolled hours. BICYCLE PROGRAMS & INFRASTRUCTURE FEE : A fee used to fund better bike infrastructure, expanding bike parking, creating safety courses and materials for bike encouragement and education, and creating a bike rental program. CLEANER ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES FEE (CET): A fee used to purchase cleaner energy technologies for campus, including solar, wind, hydrogen and geothermal projects, energy efficiency purchases, and the purchase of renewable energy from non-University producers. COLLEGIATE READERSHIP FEE: A fee to fund the Collegiate Readership Program, which provides free copies of various newspapers. CULTURAL PROGRAMMING FEE (CP): A fee that supports cultural programming within six areas: African- American, Asian-American, Latina/o, LGBT, Native American and women's programming. KRANNERT CENTER FEE: A fee to support productions at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts (KCPA). LEGACY OF SERVICE AND LEARNING SCHOLARSHIP (LSLS) FEE: A fee creating a permanent source of need/merit-based scholarships which include a community service component. MEDIA FEE: A fee to support the Illini Media Company which operates The Daily Illini, Illio, WPGU, and other campus-based media. STUDENT ORGANIZATION RESOURCE FEE (SORF): A fee to help fund programs and/or services of Registered Student Organizations. STUDENTS FOR EQUAL ACCESS TO LEARNING (SEAL) FEE: A fee which supplements existing financial aid for students with financial need. STUDY ABROAD AND TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP FEE: A fee to provide scholarships to undergraduate students for study abroad and to graduate and professional students for travel scholarships. SUSTAINABLE CAMPUS ENVIRONMENT FEE (SCEF): A fee to help establish a sustainable campus environment by financing initiatives such as green buildings, engagement of the University community, recycling, energy efficiency, and environmentally responsible purchasing. 2/8/19 VCSA:slo QUESTIONS? At its regular meeting Monday, several members of the council said the plan was moving too quickly. Ward 7 Councilmember Diane Marlin said it was “troubling” that the University was pushing for the turbines without involving the city of Urbana. “I support alternative energy sources, such as wind and solar power, as a commitment to the future,” she added. “However, I’m also committed to the present, where it’s our responsibility to protect the interests of Urbana’s residents and businesses and to mitigate the impact of these enormous structures.” The 40­foot turbines will stand along Philo Road and will provide at least 1.5 megawatts of power exclusively for the University.

    IN THE COURT OF CLAIMS OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS XINGJIAN SUN and ) XING ZHAO, ) No.: ) Claimants, ) Amount claimed: $11,737,601.90 ) v. ) ) BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE ) UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS, ) ) Respondent. ) ) AMENDED VERIFIED PETITION FOR RELIEF Claimants XINGJIAN SUN, also known as Vina or Narcissa Sun (“Sun”) and XING ZHAO, also known as Ely Zhao (“Zhao”), by and through their undersigned attorneys, hereby allege as follows: NATURE OF THE CLAIM Claimants’ claims against Respondent sound in contract (705 ILCS § 505/8(b)) and the laws of the State of Illinois (705 ILCS §505/8(a)).1 They arise out of the chronic failure of the University of Illinois (the “University”) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (“UIUC”) to protect Claimants, two Chinese nationals, from abuse by Gang “Gary” Xu (“Xu”), associate professor and head of the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures (“EALC”) 1 Claimants entered into a tolling agreement with the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois on September 19, 2019. Written notice of termination of the agreement was given by the University of Illinois on December 17, 2020. The terms of the agreement state that termination of the tolling agreement is effective 30 days from written notice, or Saturday, January 16, 2021. Plaintiffs filed the Verified Petition for Relief in this matter on January 15, 2021. Instead, the University helped this professor as he perpetrated horrific abuse against his students, including trafficking them.
