The County Council (A612 - Road, Halloughton and Southwell. Southwell Road, Bleasby and Thurgarton) (50 M.P.H. Speed Limit) Order 2017) (3266)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Traffic Management Act 2004, as amended, and The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County of Nottinghamshire) Designation Order 2008 (SI 2008 No. 1086), as amended, the effects of which will be to roads in Epperstone, Oxton and Southwell in the District of :-

1. A612 - Nottingham Road , Halloughton and Southwell

from a point 31 metres south-west of its junction with Park Lane, Southwell in a south- westerly and then a south-easterly direction to its junction with Southwell Road.

2. A612 - Southwell Road , Bleasby and Thurgarton

from its junction with Nottingham Road in a south-easterly direction to a point 386 metres north-east of the centre line of its junction with The Hollows, Thurgarton.

3. Southwell Road , Halloughton

from its junction with Nottingham Road (A612) in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 150 metres.

The proposed 50mph speed limit would be in keeping with the recommendations made as part of the A and B road speed limit review. The 50mph speed limit would be close to the recorded average speed of 47 mph. A lower speed limit would be better suited to the hilly twisting nature of the road. The speed limit would extend from the existing 30mph speed limit in Southwell to the existing 30mph speed limit in Thurgarton.

The Written objections (stating grounds and quoting ref. 3266) must be received by me by the 9th day of October 2017.
